April [2nd Half]
April 10-14 Spring Break for the Kids
It really started on Sunday when they slept over at Liz's house....then slept over again on Monday...and then Tuesday we made them come home so they could do their chores. It was good because Aljay would get a few hours a day to work on the house without kids. And then I got off work early one of the days and we all went to the rec center for a much needed swim.
On Friday night Aljay went over to South Jordan to help the UpLift Foundation crew with their easter egg hunt prep. They filled 10,000 easter eggs!!! My gosh...i would have stopped after a few hundred and pushed that we just throw the candy on the grass for the kids to pick up. Kalofae it took a lot of volunteers and helpers to put together their Easter Egg hunt. But everyone running UpLift are so bomb and dedicated to helping the community. Such an impressive team.
April 15- 1st Floor Staging
Penny & Vjal and the crew (Lyle and Carry, Michael and Sam, Tairay) came in clutch with the UHaul truck and helped us take a huge load to the dump, take a load to storage, clean up the house and back yard, and stage our first floor. We honestly couldn't have done it without them. They all made the process go smoothly. Major blessings to the team!
April 19- Everything
It felt like everything just hit at once.
I was at work when I received news that Mele was admitted to the hospital and not doing well. We tried to figure out a way to get to St. George that night. But just before Aljay picked me up from work, Darren showed up and asked for help with his car. We couldn't really do much about his car but we prepared dinner for them and then planned to go do laundry after he (and his girlfriend) left...
....but then my parents arrived. I had called them earlier in the day without any response so I had assumed they were still a day out from Utah. They had been driving from Maryland with a big UHaul truck of their belongings.
And then just as we were sitting down for a quick rest, we noticed that someone (SEFA) had cut off several different chunks of hair from Viiga's head. So yeah.....we cut Viiga's hair. I was really kind of sad. The decision to cut his hair and then proceeding to do so happened all so suddenly. But it's done and we've survived and all is well.
Anyways....we got Mom and Dad's bed setup in the living room, and had all the kids sleep in the living room because we were getting the kids room set up for painting.
Then when we were finally able to lay down and let our body's sink into the comfort of the bed, we finally got to talk about the day and process all that has happened and all that was going on inside our minds and hearts.
And then the next day I remembered the 1st Presidency/Home teaching message for the month of April and immediately shared it with Aljay when I was at work. It was exactly what I needed to hear and be reminded of. You can read it here.
April 19- Finished painting kid's room and unloaded aforementioned big az truck of belongings
April 20- Drove to St. George
I got off from work on Friday, so we drove down to St. George on Thursday night after work. It was a nice 4-5 hours of conversation with Aljay (i guess you can consider it a date). We arrived around midnight and crashed out.
Mele was discharged from the hospital by Friday afternoon. It was good to see her, but she was still loopy from the meds and feeling pain all over her body.
When we was conscious and awake, she decided she wanted to buzz her hair shorter than what it was. Lahvjal was deemed as most experienced with clippers and had the honors of cutting her hair. Then Ary did styled her hair and did her makeup. She looked so beautiful!
*Slapping myself for not getting any pictures! But thanks to the kids I did get these lovely photos
Then we had a really nice kogai and lotu to end the day! It was really nice to be with all the cousins. Aunty Malo and Uncle Siu were there. Ary came down with Lahvjal and Penny on Friday afternoon. Rosa was already there with her tribe. They had been there since Monday. The kids all had a ton of fun fighting and playing with one another.
Joe, Lahvjal, and Aljay were able to sit down and have a Rooci meeting.
Mele was happy to see everyone there and even though she had 3 seizures while we were there, the seizures didn't last nearly as long as the 2 hour one she had a few weeks prior.
April 28- House Officially goes on the Market

We were so happy with the pics that the photographer got of the house.
April 29- 1st Potential Buyers
Usually people make an appointment to see the house, but these two just showed up Saturday morning. Good thing I had woken up early around 7am and already cleaned most of the house. I was washing dishes after our breakfast when the two ladies arrived. They loved the house and said they wanted to put in an offer. COOL!
That got us pretty excited. #FirstTimeHomeSellerStatus #Rookies
But we're hoping that we get more offers soon to drive up the price when potential buyers bid.

Through tears we talked about how sad our hearts were for those that we love so dearly
especially for Mele, Joe, and their kids
and how we need to never take anything for-granted
like the times, both good &bad, that we have with our children and with our loved ones
and how we wish we could do much more for those in need,
but don't even have our feet on solid ground
and how we are sooooo close to being done with the house
but yet it feels like a never ending process!!!
