Happy 32nd Birthday

I would've done a real collage but we know how impatient I get with techy things. Anyways...
Here's how we celebrated his special day :)
This year Aljay's birthday fell on a Sunday. Typically we would celebrate on Saturday and then have a family kine eating on Sunday buuuut Si'us wedding was on Saturday and Aljay and Vjal were on kitchen duty. So they were physically exhausted come Sunday.
We started off Alay's morning with
Then after church I got home and started on lunch. I know Aljay loves to BBQ but I knew that after BBQing all the chicken for Si'us wedding the day before, it'd be nice to just cook things we don't often get to throw on the grill (anything but chicken).
So our afternoon was spent grilling corn (mmmm Mexican elote), bacon wrapped mushrooms, sausage and veggie kebabs, garlic shrimp skewers [Shrimp on the bah beh! *Ozzy accent*], and hamburgers. Lahvjal and Aljay were so awesome at quality control and sampling :)
The weather was so nice and we were fully enjoying backyard grilling in the shade. Can you tell? The one time we take a good number of pics, its all of food. lol
For his birthday present I decided to stick to the budget ($0) and called on the family for some help.
I sent out a questionnaire to all the siblings and their companions (and Mom and Dad of course) asking each of them the same set of questions. He got to read all of their responses, which really made him smile and laugh. You can see everyone's responses here. Dad also sent me an account of Aljay's birth story. I fully enjoyed reading all the responses and watching him read all the responses.
Right as we were finishing up on the grill we started video chatting with some of the fams. Thought it was a good time to bust out the cake and sing the birthday song.
Howwwzzz da ice cream chocolate chip cookie cake???!! Toot toot! Tooting my own horn cause I was so proud of my chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich cake thing lol. I made it the day before and pulled it out of the freezer a few minutes before singing. I'm a fan of this type of cake prep. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
We sang the song (with Brit and Dad on video chat), had some cake, and then proceeded to eat the real dinner lol. It was followed by a movie, then smores, and then lotu.
IT WAS A GOOD DAY :)
Happy Birthday to my Eternal Companion, best friend, and best Daddy to our 4 babies.
