Recent Highlights

Here are some of the highlights for February and early March


Valentines Day
Feb 14

I was spoiled on Valentines. I woke up to flowers, a card, balloons, and chocolates :) Then I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with my delicious husband lol. Got things done (meaning I finished all the loads of laundry) and pumped milk for baby. Then in the evening we had a good ol fashion dinner-and-a-movie kind of date night. 

Major mahalos to Aunty Penny and Lahvjal for watching the keiki o ka aina. The kids had a blast with them (as usual). Plus, Aunty Penny always makes the coolest videos which I will always treasure!


For our date night Aljay and I tried out this sushi buffet in Provo, watched the Maze Runner (it was alright), and then visited our sweet little valentine. 


It was such a good day. To top it off, we came home and found a beautiful pink box on the kitchen counter. Pink box = Crumbl = most delicious chocolate chip cookies. Mike & Rachel dropped them off at the house while we were out. Bless their glorious souls. 

 It was a good day. Aljay knew I needed it. I Love him. 



ADG Daddy Daughter Dance
Feb 28

The primary held a Daddy Daughter Dance for all the Activity Day Girls. It was so cute!!!! Leila and her Dad had such a great time!!! Before the dance Aljay took Leila to pick out a dress for the dance. Then I got her ready and fixed her hair. 

 I had a meeting at the chapel so our whole family ended up at the chapel and got to peek in during the evening. I'm so grateful for the leaders putting it together.

 I have to figure out how to download the videos that Sis Runge posted cause I was cracking up watching Leila experience her first dance. She was a little scared at first and a bit shy and then eventually up dancing awkwardly. It was so cute to watch her little heart grow in confidence. 








Sadie is the other girl who is Leila's age. At the beginning of the dance Leila was sitting next to Aljay and Sadie came up to her.

Sadie: Leila come dance with me!
Leila: Umm...I'm scared. 
Sadie: Me too. Let's go together! 

 Aljay told me all about their dance afterwards and my Mommy heart melted. Our baby is getting old! Aljay had so much fun, and got a glimpse of the future. He said he pictured one day dancing with Leila at her wedding. oh my life. cannot even think about that yet. Okkaaaaa and then he got all emotional. It was so cute. 


 Suprise Visit from the Iafetas!
March 1

 So if you read my last Mommy Memoirs post, you know that we definitely could of used a pick me up at the end of February. Well we got one!!!

 Candace and Jay and their cutie pie kids surprised us and flew up to Utah for 2 days!!! We were sooooo excited and surprised!!! Best surprise everrrrr!!!!  The kids especially were stoked!!!

 We all needed it! They were the answer to our prayers. Even if they were only there for 2 days, it was soooooooooo needed!

Metuli's HOME DAY!!!!
March 3


 Our baby was finally able to come home!!!! Yesss!! And for the first time, her siblings were able to meet her! It was so awesome to watch them be with her for the first time. 


Sally wasn't on board at first, but she came around and is now drowning her sister in hugs and kisses. 

 It felt so good to feel like a complete family, all under one roof. Metuli doesn't know it yet, but we needed her more than she needed us. She has brought so much excitement to our home. You could see and feel the difference.  I was happier, which made everyone else happier. 

 And how appropriate was it that Metuli's home day would fall on Brittany's 29th Birthday. Jk she didn't turn 29, but she's probably feeling like she's "soooo old". Brit if you are reading this Happy Birthday Tamar!!!

 She's only been home for a week now, but she's already become everyone's favorite. We love our sweet Metuli Lapreal Fuimaono.

Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...

2025 January

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma.
