AUGUST - Back to School Month!
Woohoo! August you blessed month. Kids are going back to school, we're getting into some kind of routine, and the weather is cooling down. Here's some of our highlights
Aunty Nina and Uncle Ben were able to visit
They came up for a funeral and then stayed a few days after the services. It was so nice to have them over, especially for the kids!
Aljay Made it Home
Aljay made it home the day after Ben and Nina left. His 2 week work-cation trip to Maui was successful. He went to paint Aaron's new location, but ended up picking up another gig while he was there. He also picked up a random commission for a lady who wanted a painting of her cat who died of cancer. lol While he was there he was gifted a set of fire knives, which got the kids really excited to start spinning again. That was pretty generous considering the cost of fire knives.
While on his trip, Aljay called and we talked about the possibility of doing a 2 month stint in Hawaii lol He was really enjoying Maui, if you couldn't tell. There is a market out there for his artwork that we really want to tap into. So yeah he came back excited to work on more ideas. We're excited to take the next steps in this business.
Back to School Prep
We've been really blessed with all the things we've received in preparation for school. The kids were able to snag some clothes at our ward clothing swap. The primary donated some school supplies. Aunty Candace spoiled the kids as well and sent a ton of school supplies. We still have a lot of backpacks that are still in good condition.
The kids are starting at a brand new school that was just built this year. Leila is in 6th Grade, Sefa is in 5th, Viiga is in 2nd, and Saleima will be starting kindergarten. So it's just little miss Tuli muli and Salani pani at home.
Saleima started the week after the older kids. She starts kindergarten at 11:30am and finishes at the same time as the older ones, then walks home with them. She's so excited!
Here's a few pics from her first day at school! The second row are pics her teacher sent us :)
Go on and learn stuff kids!!!
Last "Back to School" Family Outing
Britt's company did an employee appreciation thing and booked the Lagoon for their employees. Britt gathered as many tickets as she could lol Each employee was only supposed to have a limit of 6 dependent tickets but somehow she managed to get enough for all of us and Lahvjal and Penny hahaha Way to be great Britt!
It was a good practice run for Disneyland this December. [sidenote---->> we decided we wanted to go to Disneyland this Christmas with everyone and so now that's what we're saving up for...so we're going to be doing a series of fundraisers...so far we had one kekepua'a sale this month]
Anyways...it was so much fun and everyone came to the realization that (1) we need to pack more water and (2) we need to exercise hahahahah at least walk more! sheesh.
