Keiki Update: BACK TO SCHOOL

 It has been a minute since I've done one of these!! I can't even remember when I last did an update. The kids are starting up school again so it was definitely time!!! Here's da bebes. 

Leila 

  • She's starting 5th grade this year. I can't believe it! 
  • She is Aunty Brittany's bestie. Talks and acts just like her lol Can be annoying a times haha
  • She is such a crack up though. 
  • She'll be taller than me so soon, she's almost the same height already. 
  • She wear size 9-9.5 women's shoes. So we're practically able to share shoes..what the heck😮
  • She's driven the car twice now and thinks she grown haha...calm lalo kid
  • On her first day of school her biggest fear was losing Viiga. I'm happy to report, they all made it home safely. 
  • Her hair! Oh my life this child's baby hairs got her looking electrocuted all the time! Gel sweetie gel! hahah 



Sefa

  • Starting 4th grade. Again, why are they growing so fast??😟
  • He went and helped Aljay with a mural job in Park City for two days. Aljay had to paint up high from a ladder and Sefa handed him the paints/brushes as he needed. It was long hours and they had to work late into the night. I'm so proud of Sefa because he didn't ever complain. He did everything Aljay asked of him. Love this kid.  *p.s. next time we're renting a lift instead of that guy standing on a ladder...smh.. but I'll save that for another post. 
  • He recently jumped on the slime bandwagon and is always trying to sneak away soap and conditioner and random ingredients to make slime. 
  • He loves playing sports, probably because it comes so easily to him. 
  • He is the best cleaner out of all the kids. 
  • Once again I have the least amount of photos of him. He's always off on his own doing something or caring for the baby or outside playing lol. 

Viiga

  • This kid is something else. 
  • He lost his soccer cleats before the soccer season even started..Heaven help me. 
  • He loves youtube and video games, playing outside all day, catching insects, and randomly yelling at the top of his lungs (such a spaz sometimes!)
  • He loves his crazy hair. 
  • He is very bright. 
  • He can be so  loving and caring when he wants to be. 
  • He's in 1st Grade this year. 


Saleima

  • She's so ditsy sometimes lol
  • She's very girly and loves all things pink and glittery. 
  • She loves getting dolled up and having photo shoots. 
  • She is still particular about how she wears her hair. 
  • She's scrappy and can turn psycho if you push her 
  • She's loves hugs and affection. 
  • She loves playing with my squishy tummy and the fat parts of my arms...sooo annoying
  • She can be so helpful and on top of things when she wants to be lol
  • She's really shy when she's in a new place around new people. Soccer has been so good for her social skills. She's gaining more confidence and courage as she continues to participate. 


Metuli

  • The bully
  • Other than baby, she's had the least amount of sasa time out of the kids...but she's been asking for more sasa (not literally of course) but with how bold this child acts sometimes. 
  • She's cute and funny and gets away with everything.
  • She's two and a half and I still haven't potty trained her LOL
  • She's ready, but I'm so lazy to do it. I attempted and started one day, but then the next day I was like "holy moly I forgot that we have to keep doing this until she gets it! waaaaah" hahaha... yeah I'll put it on my ta-da list. 
  • She loves watching coco melon on youtube and singing along. 


Salani

  • Everyone's favorite saiga looking bubba girl 
  • Nicknames: Russel, Lani, Lani bunz, Salanz, Nini girl, Lanz, Chubba girl, Chunka Munk, Dumpling, Dim Sum, Grinchi baby (so annoying Lahvjal! hahaha)
  • She's so squishy and marshmallowee we just love squeezing her
  • At 7 months of age she popped her first tooth. Luckily it was a pretty good transition...thhaaank goodness. And now she's working on more teeth. Bring on the sleepless nights lol
  • She'll be 8 months old by the end of August. 
  • She has sensitive skin kind of like Metuli. 
  • She sits up on her own very well and is taking her time learning how to crawl. 
  • I really love that she's taking her time hitting milestones. Cuz once she starts crawling oh my life she's gonna put everything in her mouth!
  • She's learned how to drink with a straw. Yes!
  • I just love her.

Soccer life--

Okay but Saturday's are so fun now but tricky. We have four playing soccer and there's always at least two kids playing different games at the same time. Aljay has to be at Sefa's game because he coaches them. I assistant coach for Leila's team so I have to be there. So the middles will most likely get either parents. And Tuli and Baby tag along. It's a juggling act FOR SURE! But..it's my circus and my monkeys and I love them!!

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
