Preggo Update: 3rd Trimester
3rd Trimester Yeeeeeeeehhhhessssss!!!!
As I'm starting this post, I'm just hitting 27 weeks and stoked to be in the final trimester of gestation! My belly is large and I'm now in the phase where I get asked more often "when are you due again?....Are you sure you're going to make it January?" lol I really don't mind people asking even though I can predict their reactions, it just gets a bit tiring having the same conversation over and over with different people.
I am excited and have been really working hard to keep a calm and positive attitude. I tell you, positive affirmations and meditation and scripture study and prayer (lol I keep adding more thing as I think more intently about it)...have all been my saving grace. Even though I know I have been riddled with fears such as...

I am excited and have been really working hard to keep a calm and positive attitude. I tell you, positive affirmations and meditation and scripture study and prayer (lol I keep adding more thing as I think more intently about it)...have all been my saving grace. Even though I know I have been riddled with fears such as...
- Will I develop preeclampsia again? And therefore have another Csection?
- If I do develop preeclampsia, when will it be? How early will baby be delivered?
- If I have to have a Csection, will the epidural process be as stressful as the last time?
- Omg if I get another epidural will I have any problems post partum back pain?
- If I carry to full term, are my doctors still going to push for a Csection? Will they be supportive if my stats are looking good and I ask for a VBAC?
- Should I just start looking into another provider who will be more VBAC supportive?
- Oh crap, I need to get things ready for this baby (normal worries)
- Oh I need to organize the pantry, the laundry room, the office (totally a nesting phase thing that the baby could care less about)
But I take it one day at a time and continue to focus on what I can do to best support this baby and my body...so you know...like the usual healthy eating, exercise, positive energy. I need to up my healthy eating and exercise, but I'm doing pretty well on the positive energy thing. It actually has influenced healthier eating and more consistent exercise.
Anyways...I had a doctor's appointment recently and here's where I'm at...
Fast forward to a week later.....
I'm 28 weeks and my fasting blood sugars are a little high. So the doctor's recommended that I take a low dosage, once a day, insulin shot. Uuughhh. Not going to lie. In the two minutes that the nurse told me that she thinks I should do insulin and then left to confirm with the doctors, I was so frustrated and wanted to cry. It's like one more thing added to my plate. One more thing to think about and try to remember to do.
But I can't help but think....gosh, when she get's here I'm going to completely forget all the hardships, I'll look at her and fall in love all over again, and wonder how we ever lived without her. So remember that it is temporary, be grateful, hang in there, and push through it. You can do anything difficult for a few years, let alone a few months. I'll get through it.
Last note for this post---
Your girl actually took maternity photos! Whaaaaaat??!??!? There was 2% of me that was so doubtful since these things don't tend to make it on my priority list but dangnamit we did it!
Thaaaaank goodness for Penny. Besides being a bomb photographer...she can direct us, and redirect us, and tell us straight up if we look stupid lol....because I'm awkward and Aljay's poses are stuck in the 90s lol. Plus he plays around so much when it comes to pics hahaha.
Although I felt super awkward, I'm grateful we took the time to get them done. Thank you Auntaay Pennaayy! Oh yes and Brit who came along to fix our clothes and hair and throw leaves up in the air hahahah who also made us go on the longest waste time drive, oh but she did make it up by buying us ice cream LOL
I'll post those pics when I get them back. I'm just happy that I got them done!

I have my next appointment this week. We'll see how that goes. Praying for the best.
