Keiki Update

A few weeks ago I went to Leila and Sefa's Parent Teacher Conference. It was a wonderful way to end the day. They both are doing so well in school and at home! As parent's we couldn't be any more proud of our babies. It reminded me that it's been a while since I've done a keiki update! So let's get to it!

LEILA
  • Best big sister and leader of pack!
  • She is excelling in school
  • competitive
  • she advocates for students who are struggling in her class
  • she is ambitious
  • has her own sense of style- sometimes her Dad makes her go change her clothes...not because it's cheeky but because she forgets to factor in the weather and temperatures or if its just way too fob  haha
  • Loves books and reading
  • Loves to write and draw
  • Loves to eat- she's one of our better eaters
  • Loves salmon, carrots with salad dressing, junk food
  • Current favorite hairstyle- two ponytails (pig tails)
  • Loves her purple glittery winter boots (tries to wear them to church sometimes)
I found this pick at Geneva Elementary. It's from when Leila was in Kindergarten. Her teacher, that we all adored, is Mrs. Wise standing to the left of Leila.

IOSEFA
  • Best big brother and second leader of the pack!
  • He is kind and caring
  • Goofy and silly
  • likes to fix his hair a certain way (uses water and pushes his hair down towards his forehead)
  • He's experimenting with his smile now because he has a big adult tooth #nannymcfeestatus
  • LOVES to draw and write (we go through several writing pads, drawing pads, and notebooks because of him and Leila's obsession with art and writing...but we don't mind at all...love that they love art and writing)
  • Saleima's caretaker and Viiga's wrestling partner
  • Leila's BFF and partner in crime
  • He is doing so well in school. His confidence is blooming as he is learning more sight words and improving on his hand writing.
  • He still goes off in his own little world and makes toys out of random things
  • He's our pickiest eater (so irrits at times)
  • He loves to dance and show us the moves he comes up with
  • Naturally athletic and coordinated (Aljay one day just taught Sefa and Leila fireknife and by the end the day Sefa could spin the knife behind his back in good form....Aljay and I were really surprised...Leila was good as well but she had to work harder to get to where Sefa was at)

VIIGA

  • I've decided to stop referring to him as a monster lol because he's more of a tornado hahah
  • He has an obsession with watching his youtube cartoons on our phones
He often tries to steal Aljay's phone because it doesn't have a password lock. When we have to get things done or need him to sit quietly, we give him our phone. But maaann....he lost the wifi phone we had...the iphone that Lahvjal gave us....he lost is at Nesi's wedding. Little booger...now I don't have anything to take good pics with or to play games hahah
  • He's a good eater
  • Very determined when he wants something
  • His prayers are getting longer and a little bit more clear
  • He is picking up more vocab and starting to express himself a little better
  • He still has the funniest facials...has some intense facials
  • Loves cars and trucks
  • Loves drinking milk
  • He drives us crazy and has successfully helped us discover another level of Anger that neither Aljay nor I knew existed
  • But he is cute and can be very loving

SALEIMA
  • Our baby of the bunch who can do no wrong
  • She is very bright and is starting to communicate with grunts, nodding yes or no, pointing at things she wants
  • She is as that stage where she loves to pull things out of cupboards and drawers and everything
  • Worst laundry partner ever lol....destroys all my piles of neatly folded laundry
  • Worst tagging partner ever lol....When Aljay was tagging an order of shirts, she tangled up alllll of the NCAA stickers that had to go on the shirt tags...Aljay spent an hour untangling the stickers. Each sticker cost money so it was definitely a painstakingly tedious task
  • She is funny and mischievous
  • She is right up there with Leila in being an excellent eater..Eaattss alllll daaayyyyy.
  • Sometimes too good of an eater....she'll eat anything off the floor or try to grab food out of the trash can (eewwww)
  • She loves peek-a-boo, "reading" books, and playing with snapchat filters
  • She clings to me when I get home and won't leave my side for the rest of the night
  • Loves to sing
  • Cutest facials...makes it hard to get mad at her
  • Loves to cuddle

Leila and Sefa are awesome at doing their chores. Every day they come home from school and vacuum and pick up the house. They team up to wash dishes and to take the trash out. The dumpster is to tall though. So sometimes one has to use a stick to pry open the lid and the other has the throw the bag in. It's so fun watching them work together. It's even more crack up when we listen to their conversations they have just before they fall asleep. We leave our doors open and we can here them talking about random things.

The babies are another story. Viiga helps with picking up rubbish but ends up making more mess anyways. He is good at taking things to the rubbish when he tell him. Saleima is just working on listening and sitting on the couch when we tell her to. They are the cause of most of the mess :) We love watching them play and interact. They are crack ups for sure.

We love them so much. I'm always in awe of how these children can drive us to reach the extreme ends of the emotional and mental spectrum...they run our patience to the ground,  make us soooo mad, frustrated, feeling helpless, and defeated. Then the very next second they put a smile on our faces, fuel our pride and hope, and bring a feeling of joy that is indescribable. Well done children. You are raising your parents well :)
