ROAD TRIP- Utah Bound

Aljay and I were super excited for our
ROOOOAADDD TTRRIIPPPPP!!!!

The closest we've been to a roadtrip is driving in a big circle around the island (I guess you can add in those Costco/walmart runs too lol). Islands are limiting like that.

So you can only guess how excited we were to road trip with our little ones!

Only thing that was a killer was the HEAT!!!!

Oh my life it was HOT!!!! Like when you open an oven and the heat hits your face HOTT! I felt like we were going to melt. I like heat. I don't mind the sun at all. But that dry heat was something else..

anyways...

Aljay was suuuppperrr excited especially because everything reminded him of his Mission (Sacramento Mission)! While we drove through Ah Chu's mission he reminisced about his mission and when we went past familiar places he started sharing mission stories that he had never shared with me before.
This guy practically drove the whole way. I'm so bubogum  and couldn't even handle more than two hours of driving.

I was in dire need of a nap but I refused to sleep in case I might miss anything exciting lol. For the first couple of hours on the trip we passed through dessert and more dessert and more dessert.Nothing about the scenery was exciting...but just being there with my best friends was enough to keep me up. Can't say the same for the little ones...they knocked out for the first two hours of the ride.

When they did wake up, we stopped at a Walmart to buy a some snacks, get gas, buy portable DVD player, and some kid movies to keep them occupied...Which kinda worked until they got tired of the movies and being seated for hours.

The canyons we drove through were BEAAUUUTTIIFFULLL though! I wish I had taken pics but I was too busy enjoying the scenery.

Here's the only pics I took from our drive.

Can't remember where this is.

Vegas. Half way there.

Caesers

Mirage

Trump tour....its so shiny and gold
NOTE TO SELF: Stop being lazy and take pictures!

(I rely to much on my sister Candace to capture all our family moments. She is a pro at making and capturing those "kodak moments" lol)

We only stopped in Vegas for gas. We should of stopped and checked out a buffet, but we just wanted to keep moving and get to Utah.

We did make one last stop in Ceder City to get gas and eat at Cafe Rio! Yummm. Then it was another two hours before we made it to Saratoga Springs.

For the entire ride we saw shredded tires and tire parts along the side of the road. Not comforting! But we said our prayers and made it to the Afele's home by 2am feeling excited, accomplished since WE MADE IT! but looking something like....
