DAY 1 - Wednesday, 7/17
3:00 AM Off to the aiport
6:45 AM Departure from SLC
11:00 AM Arrive in HNL
Aljay picked up our turo rental, while we gathered our bags. Britt and Ian got their rentals from the airport rental companies. It was so fun seeing the kids ride in the back of the truck.
Our first stop was Aunty Fola's!
I purposely didn't tell her we were coming because I knew she would try to cook up a storm. Didn't stop her from giving us mangos and juice. It was so good to see her!
Next stop was Laie!
- We were too excited to be hungry and only stopped at the Kaaawa 7/11 to grab snacks.
- The house we stayed at was Penny's Grandma Alice's house. It was such a blessing because hello free and so close to everything!
- After dropping our bags off at the house, we went to Ben and Nina's ward camp.

DAY 2 & 3 - Thursday & Friday 18th & 19th
Our kids lived their best ward camp lives! They didn't know what to expect and really only had Utah ward camps to reference. They lived at the beach for the entire ward camp, with plenty of sunburns to show for it. Beach & cousin time was eeeeverything!
Day 4 - Saturday, 7/20
Breakfast at Tita's Grill. Quick swim at Temple beach. Angel's Ice Cream. Camp breakdown.
Day 5 - Sunday, 7/21
Church at 8am, Cooked for the Baptism. 4pm Leta's Baptism
Day 6 - Monday, 7/22
PCC DAY! Did villages, Gateway, Nightshow, and then walked around backstage. It was so fun walking down memory lane. The kids had a blast!
It was so interesting to see all the changes! Gateway was deeelish! No pics because we were hungry! The night show especially had some good changes! They didn't have an intermission, the show was shorter, but the sections were much cleaner.
Overall, I loved sharing this part of our college lives with the kids and they fully enjoyed the experience.

- Cane Juice - fruit juices made with sugar cane instead of sugar. Very refreshing! 7/10
- Pad Thai - it was ok. Peyton got it, but we were so full by then. 6/10
- Onoyo - I've always only enjoyed the fruity cups. 7/10
- Spring Rolls - 6/10
- BBQ Kalbi and Chicken plate - 7/10
- Badabingsu - booo they were closed lol
- Da Bald Guy - 10/10 sooo good! We actually ate here earlier in the week...but the furikake salmon, boneless kalbi, chopped steak, fried poke, was all on point!
We had some time before family pictures so we went and visited Aunty Janeen in Hauula. It's always so fun catching up with her and hearing all the updates on the cousins!
Then we headed home to get ready for family photos.
After family photos we changed clothes and went to Uncle Ah Chews house for Nia's birthday party! To top it all off, the kids got to take a picture with Iam Tongi (who was just next door at his family's house). The older kids especially were going crazy! Love that for them!
Day 8 - Wed, 7/24
We stayed up late the night before and woke up around 10am. I went to swapmeet with Nina and Brittany. Penny and the kids stayed and started cleaning up the house. When we got home I packed up everyone's clothes and cleaned up a little. Penny, Aljay, Ben, Lahvjal, and all the kids went to Punalu'u to the Anae residence.
Bradina and Adora had been hanging out at the house so they took them to play at their property. They live on agriculture land which is like living in Samoa as they would describe it. They all had so much fun.
Then it was load up, say our final goodbyes, go to the airport, and head home to Utah.
We took the direct flight back, arriving in Utah 7am.
We all got home and died. Then of course half of us got sick.
Overall....
That was an epic trip! Core memories for sure!
Next trip goal >> Samoa & American Samoa
