May 7 - Happy Birthday Viiga
Birthday Post HERE
May 8-9 | Mother's Day Weekend
On Saturday the EQ put together a beautiful luncheon for the Sisters. We had soccer games at the same time but went to the chapel afterwards, just in time for the closing remarks. The set up was beautiful!! And the food was delish! Although I missed it, I heard the entertainment was great too!!!
Then on Sunday we ended up going back to 2 hour in person church! WWOOHOOOO!!!! Aljay made us (me, Mum, Brittany, and Penny) fresh flower leis and I got to wear mine at church. And it was a Relief Society Sunday for second hour (even better!). The EQ took care of the Primary so we were able to have all the sisters in Relief Society. At the end of our lesson the EQ brought in cake and ice cream. It was wonderful.
After we came home I took a 4 hour nap. No interruptions, a nice cool breeze, and a king size bed all to myself. It was heavenly.
I woke up to the most delicious dinner!!!
- Steaks- made by Viiga. And boy did he impress!!!! The steaks were perfect!!! How in the heck!
- Lobster tails - made by Leila. She followed a youtube tutorial and they came out great!!
- Eggrolls - made by Sefa. He rolled almost 40 eggrolls and fried them himself.
- Poke and Oysters rockefeller - made by Aljay
- Juice - made by Saleima. She also helped shred carrots for the eggrolls.
It's no wonder our Sunday Mother's Day supper took so long to make and I could get some rest. It was because Aljay had the kids do everything! He just supervised and everything came out delicious!!! That was the first time we had lobster tails and oysters rockefeller! It felt so fancy!!!
And of course I didn't get any photos except these....
Me and baby having a nap, Metuli modeling my lei, and Leila & Viiga (off to the right) arguing while cleaning the kitchen lol.
Then after dinner, Britt and Baby had their own little photo shoot.
May 20 - Samoa
I spoke with my Dad and he was very concerned about my Mom's health. She has Parkinson's disease but she has never been officially diagnosed. She is in a bit of denial and doesn't want to see the doctors. Dad's diabetes is being managed but he can get hurt easily.
May 21 - Happy 36th Birthday Aljay
I wanted to schedule an appointment with the chiropractor for an adjustment and massage, but I decided not to schedule anything. It's his least favorite thing to be scheduled hahaha. So I let him sleep as long as he wanted and then we went out for a late lunch. We tried a new sushi place, then came home to get the older kids who finished school. Aljay was really in the mood to go see a movie but there wasn't anything good out in theaters lol. So we took the kids to Nickle City arcade and had a good time winning prizes lol. It was a nice simple day with the family!
One day I'll really get him with a surprise! lol
End of Spring Soccer Season!!
5/18 - Viiga's 1st Grade Boys team had their last game. Viiga played goal keeper for the first half. He did great! He had 3 solid blocks and was scored on once. He is so funny to watch. He has great size and a strong kick, and with time he'll get the skills/finesse down. This year he played with some neighbor friends - Ezra and Ben. We'll probably give football a try next time.
5/18 - Last Game for Leila - she improved a lot this season! She has a strong kick and great speed when she's running full on, but is still working on stamina and agility. She loves scoring goals and just having fun. She played with all the Schow kids - Gloria, Paul, and Bailey. And made new friends along the way. She hates playing goalie and we've had to have a talk about "no matter what position you play, you give your best effort...". But she did great and now wants to try volleyball or rugby.
5/22 - Last Game for Sefa. This kid is such a natural athlete. His coordination and natural agility is impressive. He loves soccer (and sports in general) and gives his best at every game and practice. He has averaged 3 goals a game this season. Not bad kid! This season a scout asked the coach if Sefa would be interested in playing for a competitive club - United. We'll see what we end up doing.
5/27 - Last Game for Tuli and Saleima
Metuli - this girl was so excited at the start of the season but would get scared on the field. She wouldn't go on the field unless one of us parents were with her. She finally played during her second to the last game. We were all shocked that she actually was playing. Then we quickly realized she was pushing/shoving/scratching😬😬😬 😂 So ummm...yeah...maybe put her in MMA?
Saleima - this child had a choice to go to her last soccer game or to the movies. She chose her soccer game! I'm so glad she did because I love watching her play! She has so much fun!
Parents-- I've grown too over this season. hahaha I can get really crazy at games and honestly it's not always the best thing for the kids lol. I've had to work on my approach and delivery when it comes to my sideline coaching/cheering hahah. #Polyparentingproblems
Aljay's been great to train with the kids. He can get bit much too at Sefa's games. I try to get him to all the kids games so they don't feel like Sefa's the only "good" soccer player. They're all going to find their groove and sometimes it takes a little time.
May 27 - Last Day of School!!!
It was a movie day for sure!! Watched Cruella (which Aljay and the kids loooooved) and a Quiet Place 2. Since it was the last day for soccer games for Saleima and Tuli, Aljay took the 3 older kids to watch Cruella and then the rest of us joined for the second movie. It was a great way to celebrate the end of the school year.
May 31st - Memorial Day
Our ward had our first BBQ get together since 2019. No masks. No worries. It was great!!! Good food, good company, great turn out from the ward. Cannot complain!
