March Happenings | 2021

March 1st - Harrison's Passing

March started off rough with the unfortunate passing of our nephew Harrison. He battled an aggressive cancer but has progressed to the next stage of life. Aljay and I were only able to be at the Thursday viewing since we were the main ones in charge of the food for that evening. I'm grateful that we got a chance to stand next to him and bid him farewell. Although I couldn't attend the family or Bishop's service on Friday (Aljay and I had food/setup crew duties), I know his family put together a beautiful program for him.

Luckily, we were able to see him at the burial site, from the food tent. I didn't get any photos, so I stole these from Gena Taotua lol.

God bless you sweet boy. Ia manuia lou malaga.

March 4th - Brittany turns 30!!

Brit's birthday was the same day as the viewing, so of course we postponed all plans we had for her. But it's not like her friends didn't show up for her lol. Ra and the other friend came over and brought allll the presents that Brit's friends put together. It was soooo cute, she didn't even know how to act with all the bomb gifts she got! Best believe the rest of us were diving into her candies and treats ahahhaha

But it's okayy....we'll plan something soooon!

Oh wait...we did have some of the Tafiti cousins come over after the Thursday viewing and we sang Happy Birthday to Brit lol...we were all sooooo tired so we just hung out, watched movies, and fell asleep ahaha. If that doesn't say "getting old" then I don't know what does lol

Then after the Friday funeral service for Harrison, we came home, cleaned up, had a rest, then went and watched Rya and the Last Dragon. Suuuuuper duper movie! Looooooved it!

And this is how we felt by Saturday....exhausted.

Kava Family Easter Egg Hunt

Aljay is friend's with Teki, whose sister is Nini, and Nini is the best. She used to do the Easter egg hunts for her nieces and nephews when they lived in Hawaii, and now she does them out here in Utah. Her egg hunts are always next level LOL.

This year she did a glow in the dark egg hunt. Teki and Pat had to fill all the eggs with blinky lights lol. There was also bar soap, toilet paper, and saimin with money taped to it lol. We donated eggs and candy and chocolate bunnies, with money taped on it as well. There were also light sticks, bubbles, and all the things! Lala even donated a 65 inch TV as one of the prizes....which of course got all the parents interested and trying to win the golden eggs hahaha. Oh and of course, Nini got all the kids got easter bags and glow in the dark bunny ears.

The kids came home with a scooter, tons of candies/goodies, combined sum of $50, and all the things. The food, the Egg hunt, the prizes. Okaaaa....Our kids always have a blast. So grateful for Nini and her love for the kids!

Leila's Birthday!

Our Monkey #1 turned 11! She's growing into a hilarious, sometimes annoying, tweenager lol Here's what we did for her birthday.

Relief Society Birthday

I like to include this cuz I feel like these are family events since I enlist everyone's help lol. Britt came with me to decorate and do a balloon garland. I just blew up all the balloons and she put it all together. It came out bomb for her first balloon garland. Aljay, Sefa, and Leila were my kitchen crew. The younger three were there to keep other little kids company lol.

Anyways...it was a fun celebration and I'm just happy when I have my family there to help me.

And that's most of March. We ended with some of us getting colds, including the babies, Leila, and myself. Good thing it's just colds. With the bipolar weather we've been having, it was only a matter of time before some of us got colds.

All good though. Easter is coming woohoo!
