Iafeta's Day Trip
Album

We started the month with a visit from #teamAZ aka the Iafeta's! It was so fun surprising the kids and letting them know that their cousins were going to be there for a day. It was so short but so sweet. The kids definitely wished they lived closer to their cousins. They had a blast!

General Conference
General conference is always good! And like most people, we watched with anticipation for any new changes. Sure enough there weren't any ahhahahaha. There was one announcement that did bring me to tears-- the announcement of a temple in AMERICAN SAMOA!!! Yes, I did cry.

It sparked the conversation of possibly moving back to American Samoa to help my parents with the house and to help take care of them. So yeah...we talked about it and are looking at possibly moving back in 3-5 years. For how long? Not sure. There are things we need to do here first before we can make the jump...but slowly and surely things are falling into place.

Box Car Derby
This was our second year having a kid old enough to participate. Last year it was Leila and she ended up winning first. This year it was only Sefa.  He ended up coming in 2nd, but everyone kept saying he should have won 1st place. The kid who took first used the same car from last year (which is against the rules...but who's going to tell a kid they can't participate?)...anyways...it was fun for Sefa. He enjoyed workin on his car with Aljay and racing it.

I wish I had more pics but I was in a meeting at the same time and Aljay had his hands full with the rest of the kids.

Hawaii Trip | April 22 - May 1
Album

I had my annual Spring recruitment trip set up and was all ready to go. Then Brittany moved up to Utah and Aljay asked(more like voluntold) her to watch the kids so that he could go with me. Bless her soul, she said yes! #youdarealMVP

Oh gloriousness!!! This was theeee most needed trip for Aljay and I!!! We counted it as our 10 year anniversary trip with hotel, my flight fare, and car rental paid for by work. Thaaannnk you Lord! We only paid for Aljay's airfare and the rental car he used for the two extra days that he stayed...oh and food of course.

We had started the keto diet the beginning of the month and decided that we would continue it while on the trip. It was a little harder sometimes, but we pretty much kept to our diet!! And it felt so good! We didn't feel stuffed or sluggish. It was so nice to have energy and still eat yummy food!

We got to experience TOA luau, which was started and run by our good friends Billy Lafaele and Dennis Mataia. They've done an amazing job with their luau. It is easily my favorite luau on the island. Booommb!!!

We also got to spend time with family and see old college friends. Never a dull time with family and friends!

On the business end, both Aljay and I had a successful trip. Aljay got the reference shots he needed and I felt super successful with the turnout of months of preparation. I felt so good about the work I was able to do and the students I was able to meet with.

Being healthier #keto, having glorious uninterrupted sleep,  and glorious uninterrupted Mommy and Daddy time ;), and just being home in warm weather was ammaaaazing!!! Family of course is always wonderful to see. But the most special and favorite part of the trip was that Aljay and I could see each other. Focus on each other. Be completely present with each other. That reconnection is something we work hard for every single day amidst the kids, their schedules, the church callings, careers planning.....when we are home in Utah. But to have it be so effortless and to remove the extra cares was so refreshing and reenergizing. We both ended the trip refueled and feeling ready to return home and get back to the daily grind.

Thank you Hawaii. You are always so good to us.

And now for random pics from the month of April.....
