Keiki Update

It's been a while since I've done a keiki update.  
Let's start with the two oldest.
They take care of their little siblings, clean the house, and are pretty decent listeners..
 Leila and Sefa


LEILA
Age 8 | 3rd Grade

  • She's still an awesome student who does well in school.
  • She recently finished reading Matilda during reading time at school, so we watched Matilda for one of our family friday movie nights. She had so much fun watching her books come alive. 
  • she still loves watching tutorials on youtube (makeup, cakes, kid science projects,etc)
  • She's been on a slime kick for a while and has made slime a few times (even though I swear each time that we are never allowing slime in our house lol)
  • still dancing with Ali'itasi..and loves it! yay!
  • She wants to do sports but we can only do one activity right now, so for now it's dance. 
  • She still loves sushi, salmon, shrimp, and all things that are just more expensive than our budget allows hahaha
  • She is our baker and makes our cakes and cupcakes when we need desserts
  • She is a very bright, independent, and responsible kid who sometimes carries more on her shoulders than a 8 year old kid should

IOSEFA
2nd Grade | 7 Years old


  • Like Leila he is extremely helpful and helps to take of his siblings
  • He loves to dance
  • Hates onions unless its fried crispy onions
  • Has been practicing his fireknife dancing with his Dad 
  • He is an obedient son, but definitely has his moments where I want to whhaatttaccck him!
  • Some of the things he does just cracks us up so much
    • The other day I was cleaning the bathroom and yelling at the kids at the same time. During one of my breathers (where I take a break from yelling) he comes up to me and gently squeezes the back fat on my arms and says "there there Mother....you're doing great!" hahahahah I wanted to dose him!
    • This other time, in the middle of reciting scriptures, Aljay stops to scold him for playing around and not sitting properly.  After his scoldings he was all faali'i bad and then walks back to where he was sitting, sits down, and in a loud confident voice goes " TULAFONO E LIMA! IA AVA I LOU TAMA MA LOU TINA!" We weren't even finished with the other scripture..Aljay and I just busted out laughing. 


And now for the Kalepe Crew, the Destructive Duo, the 2 Monkeys that...
keep us on our toes
make us laugh
make us mad
make us clean up extra....
Saleima and Viiga



VIIGA
4 years old | Home-schooled

  • staunch child who is always pushing the limits
  • forever losing his shoes
  • his special powers are his sense of humor, super animated facial expressions, and very unexpected tender moments
  • When his powers are combined with Saleimas....we spend most of the day just trying not to totally lose our heads
  • he is a fast runner (which is very impressive but often annoying)
  • he is a little smartie 
    • he throws out all these words that we never taught him like 'excavator' and 'logo'
    • he knows all his colors, shapes, etc...all the stuff they expect for kindergarteners....he just likes to do things on his time...not begin demanded to do something #stubbornguy #youtubehomeschooling
  • suffers from selective listening (to the point where we think he might actually have stuff in his ears blocking everything we say)
  • although he is a knucklehead, he tries often to be a good boy 


SALEIMA
3 years old | Homeschooled


- She is always waking up Metuli (annoying). 
- Always asks me if I'm happy (kinda cute)
- Has crazy hair lol
- Has theeee most annoying winy voice/cry
- But she's also really cute and sounds like a little cartoon (her special powers)
- Is pretty good at helping with cleanups and taking care of Metuli...until she gets distracted or tired of helping
- She is tough. She holds her own against Viiga and is one scrappah. 
- Sefa always says she's 'one hammah' lol
- She loves to get dressed and would do outfit changes throughout the day if we would let her
- Loves lipgloss and all things girly. But is such a little tomboy at the same time.
- She is quite chipper when she wakes up in the morning
- She recently turned three and I'll post about that soon



Last but certainly not the least...
we have the baby of the family. 


 Metuli
10 months

  • She's perfect
  • She crawls everywhere and puts everything in her mouth. And she crawls like Viiga did as a baby #OGcrawler
  • Can say Mama...but working on Dada
  • She has a big appetite but is super petite. 
  • Although she is 10 months old, she is about the size of a 5 month old lol
  • She is NOT a picky eater. Thank goodness!
  • She sleeps from about 9-5am, takes a bottle, and then takes about 2 more hours of sleep
  • She babbles quite a bit but is still such a quiet and easy baby (I mean that could change the second I post this, but for up to now it's been awesome)
  • no teeth yet
  • Everyone loves her and we're all just happy that she is healthy and growing strong



We love our kids and have enjoyed watching them learn and grow. They surprise us everyday in the best and worst ways lol. We're just grateful that they are ours forever :) And now for some random pics

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
