Pregnancy Update

I feel like it's been a while since I've done an update on me and da Bebe Girl! So here we go...

Gestation: 32 weeks

YAY!! Finally feel like I'm  "almost there"....and after people asking me if I was "almost there" for the past 3 months...it feels good to actually be within 10 weeks of my due date. Praying that I carry to full term and we have a complication-free pregnancy.

Body Changes:

  1. Swelling & Soreness- started with the new year booo. More soreness as my blood volume increases and ligaments start to soften and prep for the birth. Moved up a shoe size to accommodate the kankles. And "preggo face" is in full effect!
  2. Fatigue- mostly from the last 2 crazy months...but more specifically with the last 2 weeks of December. I fully over did it while we moved and had to take some rest and recovery days (or at least try to).
  3. Overall Feeling of just being OLD lol...i'm not even old...I'm only 30. But being preggs at 30 with kid #5 definitely feels heavier and more uncomfortable than being preggo at 22 or 23...holy crap I can't believe I've had 4 kids and been pregnant 5 times since I've been married.
  4. Gained more weight. Don't really know where I tip the scale at now cause I haven't seen my midwife for like 2 months...i know i know...I'm so bad at scheduling appointments...*pause* <scheduling appt now before I forget>....and OKay I have an appointment for next week! Go me! But I'm dreading what the scale might say. I was about 219lbs when I weighed in for my November visit...so I'm going to guess that I am now 225lbs *so hopeful*....Eeeeekkk!! Either way...this is the heaviest I've been in my life! BUT, I am mentally get myself ready to get healthy again post partem.

    UPDATE:
So ummm yeah I made it to my appointmnent....guess what!

That's in pounds.  Okkaaaaaaaa...and I still have 8 more weeks to go! I smell another chapter of my weightloss journey coming up in a few months hahahah

Preparations:

Umm...yeah that's going I guess lol.

BABY NEEDS
  • Carseat

  • Crib/bassinet-  I got a bassinet from a co-worker

  • Baby Clothes- gotta go through Saleima's bag of baby clothes
  • Diapers- I have two large packs of size 1's, just need a few newborn sizes and I think we're off to a good start lol

  • Breast pump- Saw this cool one that is really inexpensive and I want to try out.

MAMA NEEDS

  • - meal prep (acking)
Yeah well...we'll get things together eventually lol

Mama Feels:

As for me and my mental, emotional, psychological state....I'm trying my best to stay positive and calm for the next 9 weeks lol. I'm anxious to meet this girl and not be pregnant. This pregnancy has been exhausting on so many levels-
  1. I'm working full time
  2. I've been traveling quite a bit (not just out of state but in state for work)
  3. Aljay took a step back from ROOCI (something that took time for me to cope with)
  4. Big changes- sold our townhouse, bought a new house, moved twice, bought a new car ( I told Aljay that this has to be the last time that we move while I'm pregnant!!! )
  5. Hosting- broke in our new home, hosted our Family Christmas party, hosted Team Hawaii, attended a funeral, and having all of this within a week from moving into our new house
  6. Trying to stay on top of my calling and church duties
  7. Trying to stay on top of our parenting duties and for me my wifey duties
  8. And then of course this is the 5th pregnancy and my body isn't as young and youthful as it once was lol.
It has been quite a bit of commotion. So yes, I'm ready to meet this little girl, start on my maternity leave, and just be at home with the kids.

Kid's Reactions:

They are just as excited about baby as I am. Saleima and Viiga have been most consistent in giving my belly lots of hugs and kisses. They talk to baby all the time and love to rub my belly. I think they will be quite the awesome welcome committee and will give their new sister a thorough orientation to family life lol.

Leila and Sefa are excited as well. They love giving input on her name. Aljay suggested Metuli as her first name...and we've taken a liking to that name. Leila is advocating for LaPreal to be her middle name, after her Aunty LaPreal who passed away recently.

We'll see what happens when she get's here. Things tend to solidify once we actually see baby's face :)
