KEIKI UPDATES

Leila
I love this girl. She is one responsible 7 year old.
She is bright, loving, and funny. 
She is such a crack up! Aljay always says that she has my sense of humor but she pulls her Dad's side just as much. 
She's growing up so quickly.
Most requested hairstyle is a big bun #dasmahTita or two braids.
She loves watching youtube tutorials and trying out different things. For example, she's made ooblek and slime after watching FullTimeKid. 
She will be starting 2nd Grade this year. She is very strong and athletic. She runs like a bulldozer lol. 





Iosefa

This handsome boy turned 6!! Sefa is the super caring one who takes care of me when I'm sick and loves to play with his siblings. He loves to be outside and loves building things.
He takes such good care of Saleima. They both like to dance and play. He is so fun to watch because you just don't know what things are going through his head when he's in his own zone. He is a joy to have and is a super helper. He still is a bit finicky when it comes to food but he's always willing to at least give it a try lol.
Love this kid. 
VIIGA

This child has angels watching over him. He is so active and daring, it's a miracle that we've only been to the emergency room once for him. #countingourblessings
When he wants to watch on someones phone, he doesn't stop asking until he gets it or ends up crying on the floor.
He is a pretty good eater, but makes a mess!
He still loves hugs and likes to be cuddled.
He is still learning how to use his ears and how to follow rules. He might be allergic to clothes, especially during the summer. He loves to be free and naked. Definitely lives up to the name.




Saleima


She's my spunky lil mini. She loves to moisturize. One time after a long day in the sun I bathed her and pampered her by massaging lotion from head to toe. Now she loooooves putting lotion on her face and body.
She is still a fatso! Eats alllll the time. #butwheredoesitgo?
She understands quite a bit and tries her best to explain herself.
She is a little mischievous and a sneaky poo.
She always tries to sneak sugar.
She is full of personality and loves to dance :)
I would sasa her more but she's so dang cute. She's starting to talk more and reacts to everything her siblings do. She also loves to dance :)


THUR 8/15- Ward Camp

Our last activity before heading back to school was to go camping. Yes we had a house to pack up and my parents just arrived in town, but we were adamant and went to ward camp!! It was just what our family needed!

We camped at Bennion Creek in Spanish Fork Canyon with no cell reception. It was wonderful.

Even though we were sooooo sore and tired when it was all over, it was worth it. These happy faces made it all worth it. 





WED 8/23  First Day of School for Leila and Sefa at Vineyard Elementary

I felt bad because they couldn't start on the actual first day of school since we were moving, but they enjoyed the first day of school! I wish we had been able to meet with their teachers and attend the open house but we have been exhausted from the move. ehh We still have boxes to unpack in the carport.

But we love these two and their resilient spirits! They were both nervous on the first day. I tried to ease their nerves with a hot breakfast (french toast), lunchable lunches, and new emoji water bottles. They were excited about the bottles and lunchables. Aljay also gave them blessings before we left for school, which calmed my nerves more than anything lol. 

They are are now 1st and 2nd grade Vikings at Vineyard Elementary!

And now we are back on a schedule. Back to routine. And moving full force into Fall.

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
