Family Updates

Its summer!!!!

Here's some family updates :)

Viiga
  • My man is walking! Officially walking...not just taking a few steps and crashing
  • He is still an awesome (as in not a picky) eater...hope this continues forever
  • He has some bomb facials!
  • He is a really good napper and falls asleep a lot quicker! LOVE
  • He loves-
    • pulling everything out of drawers/laundry baskets/the pantry...grrrrrrr
    • swimming/showering/playing with the sprinklers
    • wrestling with Sefa
    • Dancing with his siblings
    • Playing in the fireplace



Iosefa

  • He's still a dancing machine!
  • Mr. Aloha- says hi to everyone everywhere we go
  • Has made progress in his spiritual progression- he stays in class at church!
  • Still a picky eater...little runt. Prefers cereal, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and sweets
  • Loves to...
    • play with his siblings
    • copy his Dad (if Aljay wears a tie, he wears a tie. If Aljay wears no shirt, he rips his off)
    • watch Super Why and Peppa Pig
    • drink chocolate milk
  • Is still so sweet, funny, and caring!
  • He's 4!!!! *seperate post for that


 Leila
  • My right hand man!
  • She loves to take care of Viiga
    • washes and makes his bottle
    • showers him and always makes sure I have his clothes ready afterwards
    • sings and plays with him when he's fussy
  • Is little miss independent!
    • Makes her own cereal, helps the younger ones with their food
    • Loves to help in the kitchen and with the laundry
    • Wants to do everything by herself
  • She's physically strong- makes it easier for us to make one trip from the car when unloading groceries #twotripsareforwimps
  • Still smart- always witty, sometimes sneaky, and asks ten millllliiooonnn questions
  • Still solid- she's a chunk of muscle and is heavier than she looks



Sandra
  • Still pregnant-
    • Haven't had an ultrasound yet to find out the gender yet
    • My babybump is big...and getting bigger (yay bring on the backpain)
    • Not looking forward to my sugar test which is coming up pretty soon..boo
  • Started working part-time for Primerica (pretty excited about this)
    • Quick background- Primerica helps people set up a financial game plan, offers options for better coverage in home/auto/life insurance, provides an opportunity to build your own business
    • I'm currently training and studying to get licensed 
    • I love learning about this kind of stuff and I'm excited to be able to help people save money, learn how to create a financial game plan for getting out of debt, building a savings for the future, and properly get protected (wow I sound like a testimonial on one of those infomercials lol but it is true)
    • I like that we get to set our own schedule and work when we can. 
  • Got a calling as a Primary Sub teacher- 
    • I love this calling! Since our ward split and became PG10,  I've somehow managed to slip under the radar in terms of getting a calling.... maybe they saw my tummy and thought 'oh she's due pretty soon' and then found out I aint even due til NOVEMBER so....'get plenny time!' lol

Aljay
  • Still having pregnancy cravings
    • this isn't new...happens almost every pregnancy
    • recently he's been craving chocolate milk
  • Is excited about starting Primerica with me (go team go!)
  • Is happily fulfilling his calling in Young Mens
    • Now that I'm not working, he has shifted his schedule around so that he works earlier and comes home earlier. Thus being able to make it to mutual on Wednesdays! And he's been feeling a lot better about being able to really magnify his calling. 
  • Still busy with his many side projects/favors ( He is always being asked to draw/design something. Sometimes he has to turn people down just because he doesn't have enough time between home, church, and work. these projects/favors are never ending.) #notcomplaining #justsaying
  • Still busy busy at work

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
