Keiki Update

Let's jump right into this shall we! First up....

LEILA GIRL

Age: 4
This kid is really developing her own sense of style. She loves leggings and dresses and skirts.
She also loves her bright blue shimmery frozen shoes. Aljay always calls her a micronesian (how rude) but I don't mind and let her wear what she wants most of the time.

She is like a sponge and soaks up everything. She's super smart and witty. She can crack jokes. She is my right hand man, number one helper, super big sister, fashionista, eating machine, athlete, clumsy clutz, and camera hog. She is also super shy when she has to get up in front of people (Aljay says he was the same way when he was little).

She is a drama queen when she get's sick. She's awesome when it comes to cleaning the house and getting ready to go places. She amazes us every day. I need to record her more often cause she's hilarious. Here's some of my favorite conversations from last year.

One night I was sitting with Leila and helping her prepare for a talk she had to give in primary the next day. Our topic was on Christmas and giving gifts to the Savior.

Mom: Leila what gift do you want to give to Jesus?
Leila: Mom. Okay we need to talk.
Mom: Okayyy
Leila: in all seriousness I want to give Jesus new shoes.
Mom: with a big smile Anything else?
Leila: oh and a new jacket...like Dad's jacket....but maybe with glitter.

One day Aljay told Leila to do something and she questioned his methods and suggested other ways of doing whatever she was told to do.

Aljay: Aua e ke fiapoko!
Leila: confused look on her face Huh?
Aljay: Auuaaa e ke fiapoko!
Leila: with confidence O le tala i na moni! (Cuz that's about all the Samoan she knows hahah)

We were out somewhere and I was trying to keep Leila's attention by trying to count with her. I made her count to ten on my fingers, which she breezed right through.

Mom: Okay now count to ten in Samoan
Leila: she looked puzzled for a second then with all the confidence.. Ma ta tusi fina lala mai siona tala moni

hahahah...ainocan dis kid.

SEFA DAWG!!!!

*****As you can see from the pics above, he recently had a haircut from his Dad (who just couldn't help himself and left a little kanaks tuft of hair #eeeeeghhh #youhadonejob).*****

Age: 3
Now this kid is something else. He can easily keep himself entertained with a few random toys. He can sit and watch Jake and the Neverland Pirates for hours. He is now the pickiest eater in our family (thats why he is so skinny).  He doesn't like a lot of food, but he will eat dirt. He actually did eat dirt the other day and got a sore tummy. He spent the night throwing up and throwing down. Not cute.

He makes us laugh every day (just like his Dad). He is Vi'iga's protector and Leila's best buddy. He LOVES to dance and isn't shy about it. Sometimes he likes to walk around bottom half naked, airing out the goods (usually after using the bathroom...lazy bum).  He can ask you the same question at least 25 times if you don't answer him or if you ask him "what?" (we've tested this before...it's no lie). He tells the best bedtime stories!!!

Despite his anatomically advanced ears, he has hella selective hearing!!!! He will ignore you when you call him to do something, but can hear you thinking the word 'icecream'. He loves books and reading. His vocabulary is growing every day. His pronunciation is still a work in progress. We still have moments when we have no clue what he's trying to say, but we're just happy that he continues to try to express himself.

He's taken the transition from nursery to sunbeams not to well. He doesn't like primary and won't go to his class. However, this past Sunday he did go to Leila's class and stayed the whole time (not a whole lot of progress, but it's something). As we continue to get him into the routine of Primary/sharing time/class we're hopeful that he'll learn to love primary.

Viiga Boy!!!

****My heart fell to my stomach when I saw his face like this cause I thought it was blood. It was blueberries from Aljay's smoothies... thank goodness.****

 Age: 9 months (a/o Feb 7th)

This little ball of joy is growing up quickly. He is a happy happy baby. He babbles a lot and has a deep grunting kind of laugh. His hair is curly and wispy. His top two middle teeth are pushing through his gums right now. He is a fast crawler. He can pull himself up and stand up with support. He loves bath time.

Him and Sefa have their own special bond, it's the cutest thing to watch. He loves seeing Leila because he knows she loves to pick him up and carry him around. He has been riding the sick train since Christmas day (croup, ear infections, diarrhea, and currently RSV).....all while teething. Buutttt on the bright side, the weather is getting better and I am hopeful that he'll make it to Spring without getting sick again (crossing my fingers).

He brings so much joy to our family. He says "Dada" and "Mum" a lot. He's a good eater and eats everything we give him...except for formula. He's not a fan of formula. I gush over his cuteness (which explains why I have more pics of him than the other two #sorryothertwo). Despite the rough winter he's had, he is still cheerful, active, and in high spirits. Love this kid.

Here's some pics from our family outing the other night. Baby was feeling better so we decided to get out of the house. We took the coins from our family coin jar and went to Nickle City (it's like Chuck E Cheese but the games are a nickle each). We had a ton of fun. When the kids get older we'll take through the laser tag.

Viiga getting festive with his Fresh Prince of Bel Air pants lol #iiiiinnwestphiladelphiabornandraised

This lucky guy...not even trying and hits the jackpot on one of the games.

 Enjoying the prizes.
