It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas!!
The best thing after Thanksgiving is setting up the Christmas tree and decorating!!!
Usually we spend Black Friday buying a fresh Christmas tree and setting it up, but we ended up having to buy a new fridge (Fa Black Friday money and fa Christmas tree). Our fridge broke and despite the many youtube tutorials and McGuyver action, it ended up outside in the backyard.
While we were at it we decided to make room for the Christmas tree (that would eventually come) and got rid of the couch that has suffered enough of the kids endless scribbles and jumping. By 'get rid of' I mean "put it in the back yard". Now our backyard looks like it is ready to be rented out lol. All we need is some sort of roof covering and we'd be set.

Back to our Christmas shenanigans...and the bestest time of the year!!!
We love Christmas!
There is no other time of the year where everyone is just a little nicer, little more thoughtful, little less selfish, little more focused on the Savior. Well there are exceptions, but for the most part everyone is typically more in tune with the Spirit of the season. We kicked off our Christmas season by going to Temple Square to see the lights and displays! #Family Tradition
Leila wanted to take a pic of just Mom and Dad but Sefa wasn't having it.
On our way out we ran into these two lovelies!
It wasn't as cold as it was last year so we really got to enjoy the nativity display and lights.
We also got to see the Draper city 'Tree of Life'!!!! I saw this on the news and put it on the list of things to do this Christmas season. Hopefully this becomes a new family tradition. It's really a spectacular sight. Next time we'll bring some hot chocolate and rolls and have a picnic. We went on a Sunday night so it was pretty packed.
The kids liked the tree for about 2 seconds and spent the rest of the night rolling down the hill.
Then to top it off....a much needed date night for Aljay and I..yessssssssss!!! I really really really needed it and asked Aljay if he could set it up (big smiley face) and he came through like a champ.
We started the evening out with dinner at Tucanos (aka best buffet ever aka poly Paradise). It's pricey (explains why we haven't been there yet) but Brittany generously left us her gift card when she left (Thhaaaannkkk yyyooouuuu Brriittt) which helped cut down the cost. We've heard a lot of good things about Tucanos and thankfully they didn't disappoint.

This magical device is amazing. You turn it to green to let the waiters know to bring out the meat.

They rotate out 17 different cuts of meat thats been prepared in different delicious ways. The grilled pineapple was bomb too.

How you start to look after a few bites. Oh and those lemonade mixes are bomb too.

Selfie fail. Das why hard when you too full.
After dinner we picked up Lahvjal from work and dropped him off at his place. Then spent about a half hour on their couches cause we were too full to move. We finished off the evening with a visit to the wonderful Home Depot where we window shopped for the things we want when we start our home renovations (wow we are so married and getting old hahahaha).
But it was just the break I needed to get re-energized for the Christmas season.
And thus ended the first two weeks of December.
Loving this Christmas season!
