Flower Cookies

Flower Cookies
This is a recipe from Charlies Crafting kitchen. The recipe is pretty simple and easy. I mixed it up the dough and separated the dough to mix in the food coloring. Then let the kids go to town. They had so much fun making these and eating them!

I helped them with two and then let them have at it.

Easy Shortbread Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare two large baking sheets lined with parchment paper or foil.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add flour and continue to mix until mixture forms a soft dough (it will be crumbly at first, but keep mixing and it will form a dough). Form dough into a cohesive ball with your hands.
You can roll it out and cut out cookies or make flowers.
For flowers>> separate into even sized balls and mix in a different color for each ball. Then take a small ball of each color and form into a flower looking cookie.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cookies are pale golden brown.  Let cool on baking sheets.
