SEPT

 All Sept Pics & Videos

Poly Days Festival

Started the month with the Poly Days festival which happens every year over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Aljay donated the plaque for the senior division winner. As always, the food was great! The fireknife competition was awesome!

Then Fall sports started. Fall sports = non-stop on the go.

Fall Sport's Line Up

Aljay - Coaching Sefa & Viiga's Flag football team
Leila - Volleyball
Saleima - Soccer
Metuli & Salani - Cheer Section lol

Momties/Uncles - Cheer Squad/transportation lol

Typically games are overlapping so we parents are always missing one of the kids games. Aljay is with the boys, I'm always with Saleima, and Leila usually gets her Momties or sometimes all of us (if her game is later). Hopefully, I'll be able to get some pics before the season is over.

Team Hawaii in Town!!

BeNinaLeta were in town for their semi annual visit lol *thanks for working for PCC HR Nina!!
I didn't get any pics booo, but we sure did have a great time with them! Some fun things we got to do included--
  • Watch the Kid's sports
  • Latin Festival at the park by us
  • Umami's (twice lol )
  • Uncle Ben's Birthday - more details below
  • Kid's Day w/ the Dad's/Uncles (Movie, Umami's, Boba drinks)
  • Ladie's Night (Chili's & Movie *Woman King was tooo mean!!)

We got to celebrate Uncle Ben's birthday (AUG 15th) on his actual birthday. We all went out to King's Buffet, then sang him Happy Birthday at home lol. Then on Sunday we had his real birthday dinner.  Britt came up with the idea to play restaurant and of course Penny and I were right there in the planning committee. Oh, can't forget our favorite team project participator Aljay lol. After many discussions hahah, we decided to go with French cuisine. The kids were the servers and they were sooo cute! Again, I don't have photos, but I'm sure there are some on the family messenger chat lol. The dinner was done in the evening followed by Britt putting on Karaoke and just dance hahah

Sugar High Event

Aljay was repainting the Dunked set and redesigning the boxes. Would've been a piece of cake, but he pulled a muscle in his back at the beginning of the week. It definitely slowed down the process. Things quickly became an  'all hands on deck' project with kids lending a hand.

On the day of the event, we attended the beginning for an hour, then headed to Lafai's rugby game. It was against Colorado Mesa, which turns out to be where Princess (April) Tafiti was assistant coaching for their rugby team. It was so nice to see her there!

Btw, UVU killed Colorado Mesa 128 - 0.

Date Night

Recently our dates night have been the two of us grocery shopping with no kids, or watching a movie in our room (rare), or Sunday naps lol we're both there physically sooo it counts haha

This was a legit date night so it needs to be documented!

We started the night by setting up the Dunked Cookie's set at the expo center where the Sugar High event was being held. Romantic, I know. hahha But honestly, we both enjoy these kinds of things.

Then we headed up to Salt Lake City to catch the tail-end of the opening night of Tali Alisa Hafoka's art show at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art! It was incredible! Her work is powerful. It's always amazing to see Pacific Islanders in a these spaces!

After the art show, we grabbed some street tacos and headed home. Hopefully we get more date nights in the future.

Lastly, in other news.....

Church Callings

  • I got released from Nursery (sad day) and got called to 1st Counselor in Primary. Love it!
  • Leila got called as the 'Princess' class president. So cute the name of the younger class lol
  • Aljay is in primary as well. He is assigned to work with Dru, an autistic 11 year old. Dru is like 5'11' haha. He's a big boy, so we needed someone big enough to work with him.
