Happy 4th Birthday Metuli

So Miss Metuli turned 4!

*This is what I woke up to at 7:30AM on January 22, 2022*

This bright beam had actually peed in her bed (Aunty Brittany's bed) early in the morning, so they were off to an early morning. She rarely wets the bed so maybe she was just excited or wanted to really mark the end of being a 3 year old hahah. 

For her birthday she wanted everything Disney. Thank the Lord for her Bestie Aunty Brittany!!! Without her, Tuli would've had the usual >> cake and ice cream birthday lol (Sorry kids! Your Mom been having a tiring month lol *future post coming soon haha)

Anyways, after showering and getting dressed for the day, she made her way downstairs to wake us up. Aljay and I had a few errands to run, so we took Miss Birthday Princess and the Baby Princess and went on our way. We came back home to a beautiful set up by Aunty Brittany and team lol ('and team' being the rest of the kids)

Her reaction was so cute! She ran straight to Aunty Brittany and said "YOU DID THIS!".
Of course best friends knows her Aunty Bestie!





Then it dinner and "MeCanto" (Encanto) as Tuli would say. I think we watch Sing 2 again for the 10 billionth time or maybe we just played the soundtrack (probably this lol). 
Ate junk food, played, and had a great time!

She asked for a Disney cake lol so I plopped a micky mouse ice cream into a mini lava cake and called it goods hahaha Sorry sis we didn't plan this one out as much.

And now....here's everything you need to know about this il beastie. 

  1. I call her my lil beastie because she is a muscle packed little ball of energy. 
  2. She is full of life, fun, excitement, with eyes full of wonder. (or just crazy eyes lol)
  3. She loves princess things, sparkly things, unicorn things. But her most recent obsession is DISNEY!
  4. Out of all her siblings, she (along with Sefa) have the least number of cavities. #besttoothbrusher
  5. She's a pretty awesome eater. 
  6. She is talkative. Very. talkative. And adding new words/phrases every day it seems. 
  7. She is Aunty Brittany's roommate and best friend. I love their relationship. 
  8. She's been nicknamed "Best Friend". 
  9. At church she transitioned very well from nursery to Sunbeams. Probably because her lil bestie Reese Uale was with her. I'm grateful they have each other. 
  10. She LOVEs to swim. Thank goodness for life vest because it's not easy keeping track of her at the pool. But she embodies pure childhood joy every time she goes swimming. 
  11. She still deals with eczema flare ups and is always asking for a back scratch. Even if she can reach the itchy area herself, she'll say something funny like "i can't scratch it, my nails are tired" lol
Thank you Aunty Brittany and your team (Leila, Sefa, Viiga, Saleima) for decorating the house, making her birthday sign, and getting her presents. She is so blessed to have you all in her life. 

We love you Metuli Lapreal Fuimaono. Thank you for being a bright light in our home. Hope you'll always call your family your best friends 💓

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
