July

I'm over here playing catch up. It's halfway through August already...anywho...July has been a crazy month....

4th of July Extravaganza (lol)

July had a super fun kick off! We started off with the Vineyard City firework show, which we can see so perfectly from our backyard while lying on the trampoline. Then Aljay and his friends lived their best pyrotechnic lives at our 4th of July get together at the clubhouse. Aljay had been waiting since April to play with fireworks and they put on one heck of a show. We get together with the Kava family and everyone related to them lol. Nini once again organized all of it and she never disappoints!!! Good food, good people, good firework show, annndd ZERO injuries/fires. What a blessed Independence day!

July 7th - I turned 34

My birthday started with breakfast in bed by the A-team! They made the most beautiful charcutier breakfast platter I had ever seen!!! Then Britt spoiled me rotten by taking me and Mom to try out the Salt Cave. It was really relaxing!!! Then we did just a little bit of shopping before heading home. Honestly I can't remember what we did after that lol... but I loved my birthday and especially all the cuddles and kisses from the kids!

July 10th - Baby Was Hospitalized

5 nights in the Intensive Care Unit and 1 night in the Pediatric Ward, due to bronchitis. Hate seeing kids sick, especially babies!

It was a tough week, but the village came through! Baby made a full recovery and we're just happy she's back to her happy bubbly self again. I'm so grateful for modern medicine, the wonderful medical staff that helped her, the family/friends who helped us, and everyone who prayed for her.

July 11th - Happy Birthday Sefa!!

Our sweet Sefa turned 10! Despite Salani being in the hospital, he was still able to have a good birthday. Read more Here

July 22nd - Leila & Sefa Piano Recital

Grandma Lupe had signed up Leila and Sefa for piano lesson starting back in May-ish. They had their first recital just before Mom left. It was the first recital for their piano teacher Bernice and for all of us LOL but luckily Mom was there to take charge and push it in the right direction. Leila and Sefa did very well and even memorized some of their songs. So very proud of them! Way to persevere!

July 24th - Grandma Lupe makes the flight to Samoa

This was a long time coming!! Britt and Mom worked hard to make sure they had everything they needed to make this flight. Aljay and I helped in whatever way, including the fundraising keke pua'a sales. Despite the preparation, we didn't stop worrying. We were still skeptical up to the point of check in at Salt Lake City Airport. Once she got on the flight at LA, we were a bit relieved. The full smiles only came once she landed in Samoa. Sheesh this pandemic has got us so anxious. Mom did have a little scare in LA and called in panic, but she had everything she needed and ALL WAS WELL!!

July 28th - Aljay flies to Maui

Aljay's friend Aaron, who used to live in Vineyard, moved out to Maui with his family and started up a Kava Bar. He had already ordered artwork for their bar, but opened up a second location and was wanting a mural. So he paid for Aljay to fly out to Maui. It was a well needed work-cation for Aljay.
