JUNE 2021 | Summer Summer Pt 2

 June 20th - Father's Day

So I waited to late to go shopping for all the foods, but luckily everything worked out well. For Father's day we did a little restaurant and had Mom, Aljay, Penny, and Lavhjal as our guests. The kids served the meal and we did 5 courses with smaller portions. I think we should always eat like this!!! LOL

I made sushi rice for the staff (the kids lol) and they got to eat before our restaurant opened. When the doors finally opened for business, the guests started with spicy crab poke on fried wonton nachos, shoyu poke on rice, mussels in a garlic butter sauce, faiai salmon with taro slices, pan seared salmon on wild rice, and finally.....steak w/ chimichurri and mash potatoes with gravy. It sounds like so much food. But when you only have to make a small amount and serve small portions, it's a lot easier.

The kids were great servers! Only one plate was returned to the kitchen due to one of the servers dropping the dish LOL. The kids also "performed" -- Leila serenaded with her piano playing, Salani sang her 5 second song called 'I Love You Dada' (that's the whole song lol). The kids tried to sing Tiaho mai ra lol It was rough but still cute.

Main thing that matters is that the Father's and Father Figures felt special and loved! And as always, these are the only decent pics I got hhahaha. On the left is our set up and on the right is the outfit Mom put on the baby hahaha. It was soo cute she looked like a little Japanese baby.

June 25-26 | Piggy Cake Sale (Keke Pua'a)

We did a fundraiser for Mom and ended up making 500 keke pua'as in two days. What a weekend lol. It was exhausting but at least we know how to make keke pua'a! And thanks to Rachel and Liz, we had awesome help and feedback that helped us work out the kinks in our process. Still a lot of learning, but not bad for the first try. We're going to try keep doing it every Friday.

Here's some other fun things that have happened....

Silalelei and Siona came up with Aunty Penina and Uncle Ah Chew. Rachel and the kids brought them over and they had a fun day at the pool.

The kids have been making good money selling their ice cakes. They are still trying to figure out how to stop themselves from eating their inventory. LOL

We've been going to the parks a lot and just playing outdoors. The kids, well mostly Sefa, are all into trying to do the splits. Sefa takes it up a notch and tries to do back flips and flexibility kine stuff.

We make it out to the pools at least once a week. It's either the clubhouse pools or the fitness center pool.

The trampoline gets a lot of usage. And so does my camera and the kids tablets. They love taking photos of themselves doing jumps and backbends and flips.

And just because they're so cute. My favorite youngest of the bunch.
