December 2020

Let's backtrack again shall we? haha

Okay so let's begin with my proudest moment in December...I crafted up and did home decor diy crafts!!! Who even am I? I shock myself! Usually I just watch youtube and pin things on pinterest...but this year I actually did the doing part! Anyways....small proud moment that I must record because that's like three months in a row.

I had this idea to hang the stockings on the wall by the tree. Aljay did the building part, I just had the idea and told him what to do hahahahahah....Thanks hun! Oh and the kids helped LOL

Okay but this next one was all me! I'm referring to everything behind the baby lol
I made the joy sign in the back.
Oh and the centerpiece things on the table (with the kids help).
Oh and the rectangle thing on the other wall that actually held all our Christmas cards.

And the best part about all these projects was that it was very inexpensive (thank you dollar tree and Walmart and Hobby Lobby sales) aaaaaand easy that even a non-crafter can do it.

Oh and I (should've been "we" but kids bailed) baked goodies to give out! And everything actually turned out great! Look at 2020 pushing me outside my comfort zone hahaha

Anyways....gotta include the small wins.

Saturday, Dec 12 - Ward Christmas Drive Thru

This one was challenging but fun! Since we couldn't do our traditional Christmas party, we did a drive through. Each organization had a station. Theme was 'The Spirit of Christmas' and each station was assigned a Christmas symbol. Every station gave out treats that went along with their symbol.

We started set up at 1pm, had the event from 5-7pm, clean up from 7-8pm and finally made it home by 9. It was a long day for Aljay and I lol. He was my 4th counselor and super elf lol.

The weather was no help at all. It happened to be the coldest day of the week and our first snow. The temperature would've been manageable but it was the wind that was a killer and made us adjust our decor. Either way, it was a fun night!

My phone died just as the event started so I had to steal these from another sister haha

December 24th - Christmas Eve

Aunty Brittany got us all matching pajamas so of course we had to take a family pics.

We had a little devotional and musical numbers by the kids. Then we ate food (light menu 👌), watched a movie, and hit the karaoke hard singing our hearts out until 4am. lol

December 25th - Christmas Day!

Slept in (naturally). Woke up, had prayer, opened presents, then enjoyed all our gifts before going to the movies to watch Wonder Woman!

We came home after the movie and had our Christmas dinner before lounging around the rest of the day lol.

It was a very very awesome Christmas!

Dec 29th - Luminaria Light Display

We were gifted tickets to the Luminaria display at Thanksgiving point by Vineyard elementary. So grateful!!! It is about a mile walkthrough light display. aaaand it's fantastic!!!! It was a super cold night but it was totally worth it! I was trying to get as much footage but my phone died at the absolute best part--- the Light the World display. OH MY GOODNESS! The Light the World Display is an extensive art sculpture instillation of pieces that displayed the life of Christ- from the angel Gabriel to the birth and life of Christ to the 1st Vision. It was reverent, magical, beautiful, and amazing...and I don't have a single picture! tsk

But it was just what we needed to be reminded yet again of the true meaning of Christmas.

Dec 31st - New Year's Eve and Salani's 1st Birthday

We started the day with the cousins, sledding down Tibblefork. It was cold, windy, but ooooh my goodness sooooooo beautiful in the mountains. I wish I had a better phone camera because the scenery was outstanding.

We got there first and Uati and Teuila guys followed about 10 minutes after. And after about 5 minutes of sledding, we were ready for hot chocolate, buttered bread, and pineapple pies LOL We definitely took mental notes of what we should do next time. Luckily we had a folding chair for Mom and the jogging stroller that kept Salani nice and warm.

After sledding, we went home, defrosted, popped some fireworks, and enjoyed Salani's day.

You can read about her birthday celebration <HERE>

December was an awesome ending to a challenging year!

<Sidenote> dang I need to lose weight👀😂😂😂 hahahahahaha
Here we go 2021!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
