2019 | WE REEEEAADDDDEEEHHH

2018 was a good year...filled with a lot of life lessons and character-building experiences lol
*is that the nice way of saying dramas and trials/struggles hahha.

Here's a brief recap.

  • we're broke

  • Our firstborn was baptized :)
  • Leila & Sefa completed their first year at Vineyard elementary
  • Metuli survived her first couple months of life with Saleima & Viiga as her mini caretakers
  • still broke but somehow making it #tithing

  • still broke but #blessed
December
  • we are finally feeling like we are getting a more solid footing with our finances and not completely broke
  • but we made it!!!!
  • Aljay and I feel really good about the direction his career is going in
  • kids got sick, but were better by Christmas
  • My 25 Hour fitness challenge went down the toilet ahahhah
  • ended the year with kids asking/begging to read the Book of Mormon before bed (MIRACLE)
  • and Christmas was beautiful

It really has been a roller coaster of a year. We've experienced heartache as we had to bid farewell to several family members and friends who've graduated from this mortal stage of life.  We've celebrated newly weds, newborns, and new beginnings. We've mourned for families who have struggled with infertility or have lost their children. We've missed out on things like family reunions and special occasions...super sad face.

But as a family we have experienced some of the sweetest moments, small victories, and ended the year on a high note!

Overall...It was a good year.

And yeah I know that going from '18 to '19 doesn't magically make the new year more amazing. I press the reset button more times a year than there are days in a year....but it's nice to to feel like it will...and to have hope that the next day will be better than the one before.

So here's to a new year *holding up imaginary glass of sparkling apple cider

And here's what I'm looking forward to specifically--
  •  2 hour church
    •  not gonna lie...our ward will start at 9am and I don't know how I'm going to get everyone up and ready on time...but I'm excited about the 2 hour time
    • besides that...I'm stoked about the new curriculum...maybe our family will make it through the Book of Mormon this year and actually finish it!!!
  •  Metuli turning 1
    • she has had to work the hardest in her first year of life so turning 1 is a huge deal
  • Sefa's baptism
    •  my man turns 8 in July..woohoo!!
  • Viiga starting school
    • yessssss!!! Kindergarten teachers aint ready for this guy!
  • Leila starting sports
    • she's been wanting to do sports but our one car situation and schedules have made it difficult, so we've only allowed them to do one thing, dance. I'm hoping we get in better position to allow her (and the other kids) to explore sports
  • Saleima stepping up!
    • especially when Viiga starts going to school and she becomes Daddy's main helper.
  • Making more memories with our family
    • like service projects with the kids
    • arts & crafts
    • family traditions
    • science projects
    • just making the most our of the time that we do have with each other
  • Aljay's artwork
    •  not completely sure what the year looks like yet, but I know it will be a good one
  • Our 10 year Anniversary!!!
    • We've always talked about doing something major for our 10-year anniversary like a trip or something, but with all the kids I think we'd have to do something more local or make it a family trip. I don't know, but I'm looking forward to it.
  • Taking Classes at UVU
    • I get to take free classes at UVU so why the heck not!? I've been thinking about doing Financial planning certificate program but who knows? Maybe I'll just do some fun classes or something.
  • Fit and fabulous bodies (for Aljay and I)
    • hahahahahahahahahha shutup

*and then here's some other wishlist items*

(well I guess that last one should be on the wishlist hahahaha)

  • Getting closer to being debt free (besides maybe the house)
  • Spoiling the crap out of our family (have to have money for that i guess)
  • Second car - it would be really helpful
  • Family Trips - Samoa or New Zealand or Hawaii would be really nice but I'd take Vegas or Arizona too lol.

aaaahhh...it'll be good.

I can feel it.

Happy New Year! And may you have your best year yet!
