Mom & Dad's Visit [House #2]

About 2 weeks ago, Mom and Dad came through. They were only here for a week and a half, but boy did they get a lot accomplished.

So they came for Uncle Eni's funeral, but they also found out about Aunty Olivia's hanai Mom's funeral. So they attended funerals, but during the other days they moved quickly to find a home out here.

So now, in a nutshell, house number 2 is being built.

Here's what's happening with

HOUSE #2- The MillCreek

3/9 Checking Out Houses
Aljay had been looking into different options and pricing out those options. When Mom and Dad got here to Utah for the funerals, we took them out to find a place and they loved this one style called the Millcreek. It is big enough to fit everyone once we complete the basement. There is a living space on the second floor and enough bedrooms for us and the kids. The ceilings are vaulted and the kitchen and pantry are beautiful.

Below is the model home that we looked at. The only thing in this layout that we didn't like as much was the 2nd level. It didn't have as big of a living space on the second level. There also wasn't a second master bedroom.

These next pics are of another MillCreek home being built that had the layout that wanted.
It's massive! My favorite parts of the house is the upstairs, kitchen, laundry room, and pantry. Fricken pantry is huge!

3/13 Startup
We (Mom and Dad) put 1% down to begin the process of building the house. We signed papers (to get started on building) and learned about the following steps we need to take to move forward with the house.

It was really exciting to get that done! We're on our way! The new house is beautiful and we're excited to have space for family!!! Oh and our kids and storage for our tools and things.

We can't wait to decorate the house with our family pictures, Aljay's artwork, and whatever else. I'm calling in the expert (Penny) to help me with Mom and Dad's room....and probably the whole house lol. She knows how!
Yes, Aljay is sitting on my lap.

This is the plot we picked out

3/15 Design Appointment
I had to work, but Mom, Dad, and Aljay met with the interior designer to go over options for the house. This includes floors, bathroom, carpet, kitchen (counter tops, blackspash, cupboards, and appliances), and exterior (windows, paint, trim). So FUN.

Aljay took some pics for me :)

3/18 Mom and Dad Leave for AZ
They drove down with Milla and Dad to visit the others in Arizona. Oh and Tui got his appendix removed while Milla and Dan were up here. Kalofae he tried to call all of us and non of us had our phones loud enough to hear his call on the day he was taken in for surgery. Sorry Tui! But here are some highlights from their visit with us. (I still junk at taking pics, but oh well here's what we got)

The babies had so much fun learning how to box with their Papa.

I was planning on taking a family pic with the Malupos and Mom and Dad and all of us...buuuuut this was the best we could get. Small kine family dramas. Das why hard. LOL

So now we work on finalizing the mortgage and in 6 months will be closing on the house!

We're excited for the upcoming changes that will go on this year.

So in the next 6 months we'll be selling our first home, paying off debt, moving to an apartment, closing on a second home, moving in with Mom & Dad into our 2nd home, starting the kids in a new school, attending a new ward, and starting the busiest season for RoociWear.

Oh my life.

Oh OUR lives.

Oookkaaaaaa....my brain is small kine starting to hurt from thinking about the packing and moving and kids school registration and work and the business and the logistics of it all....errmahhhgaaashh....

****whew....slowing my brain down and refocusing****

But with all the exciting (and scary) things that will be happening...

We are most excited to have the opportunity to take care of our parents.

We are blessed to have the opportunity to serve  and care for them.

The relationships we build with our families is more precious to us than anything.

And for our children, we are so excited for them to have

the opportunity to serve and care for their grandparents.

I didn't have that opportunity as much as Aljay did. I wish I did. But at least our kids get to have that now.

Aljay and I talk and laugh sometimes because there are a few specific things we can't wait for our kids to experience...

like getting scoldings from their grandparents.
Doing all the feaus they tell them to do.
Serving them first.
Cooking for them.
Caring for them.
Asking them to come to their school programs.

There are things Aljay and I are excited about...

like getting them a gym pass and taking Mom to the silver sneakers class lol.
taking Dad out to golf or fishing
taking Mom to get her nails done
paying off the house within 7 years so they don't have to worry about anything.
being in a position that will allow us to have more time with our kids and their grandparents.
having more memorable experiences.

It won't always be smooth sailing
{sure as hell won't always be rainbows and unicorns}
but it will be worth it.

And to end this post---

Here's our little tribe trying to do a family selfie with all the kids in....and while we are still smiling lol
Buckle up family! It's going to be a busy year with new adventures!
