Project Bikini Body [Feb]

PROJECT BIKINI BODY   is in full effect!  Halfway through December of 2016, Aljay decided to start going to the gym again. He started off going about 3 days a week. Once he started seeing results, he was even more pumped and is now close to being addicted. About the second week of January he hit what I call his "beast mode" lol. This is typically where he starts getting into the pre-workout, protein shake, supplements and all phase. This time, due to budget cuts, he hasn't gone out and bought protein shakes, supplements, and all that (thank goodness). BUT...he has prepped and portioned out our meals, is constantly checking on me to make sure I'm eating my meals (which is easy for me when he's the one meal prepping lol), researching ways on how I can workout with my diastasis recti, going to the gym daily, and flexing in mirrors. And I love it :)  Having him on the same page as me is a major win. He doesn't just help with healthy eating but with keeping m...

Full Time Position I've been hoping to secure a full time position at UVU since I've started as a part timer (almost 6 months ago). At the end of January I found out that a position in my department was going to open! Lais (who is my colleague and mentor) has applied and accepted a position in a different department at UVU. Now we are in the talks of transitioning me into her spot. I would now be full-time and working with underrepresented populations that include Pacific Islander, Latino, Native American, First Generation, LGBTQ, etc....I'm so excited and terrified at the same time. There are moments at work where I feel like I've got a good handle on things and then there are moments where I just feel so inadequate and under qualified ( I tend to have more of these moments than the other ). That's usually when I feel the strong urge to go back to school. *sigh* pretty soon...pretty soon But I do enjoy learning from all the brilliant people that I meet.  We con...

Image
A few weeks ago I went to Leila and Sefa's Parent Teacher Conference. It was a wonderful way to end the day. They both are doing so well in school and at home! As parent's we couldn't be any more proud of our babies. It reminded me that it's been a while since I've done a keiki update! So let's get to it! LEILA Best big sister and leader of pack! She is excelling in school competitive she advocates for students who are struggling in her class  she is ambitious has her own sense of style- sometimes her Dad makes her go change her clothes...not because it's cheeky but because she forgets to factor in the weather and temperatures or if its just way too fob  haha Loves books and reading Loves to write and draw  Loves to eat- she's one of our better eaters Loves salmon, carrots with salad dressing, junk food Current favorite hairstyle- two ponytails (pig tails) Loves her purple glittery winter boots (tries to wear them to church sometimes) ...

Operation Get Fit!!! Mission COMPLETE

And just like that we have come to the end of my 52 week fitness journey!!!!  hooiii and I still look the same...waaaaaahhhh.  I started off a year ago with this challenge in hopes of making  a healthier lifestyle change, but it has felt like all I've done is hit the reset button over and over and over and over ...constantly trying, failing, and trying over again.  It's quite easy for me to feel like I've completely failed. And in terms of losing weight...I have. No doubt there. And that's kind of the attitude I had as I began writing this post.  But as I truly reflected on the year, I've come to recognize and appreciate all that I've gained. Because I have made progress! yay me.  The scale doesn't reflect the progress I've made....and neither do the pictures. LOL It's okay with me. I know that this year has been about more than just physical gains. WHERE I WAS A YEAR AGO 200lbs |  No stamina |  No muscle tone |  Low energy |...
