VIIGA turns 2!!

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY

and just like that our favorite monster child turned 2!!! Couldn't believe he's only two cuz he's been hitting the "terrible two" stage since he was one! lol....just kidding Viiga. We love you. You're not terrible. Naughty? Yes. Little bit crazy? Yes. Super Energetic? Yes. But you are also cute, cuddly, hilarious, smart, funny, animated, cheerful, and loving.


 We love you because you are such a happy boy and you make us laugh. 



We love you because you are caring and love your siblings. 


Especially you're future partner in crime and super bestie Saleima.




We love you when you take naps and go to bed.


Son (in future years when you're able to read this), I just want to let you know that we wouldn't be complete without you. Here's a few more things about you as a two year old.....

You are mischievous and keep us on our toes! 
You draw on our walls and all over your body every chance you get! 
You eat all our bananas in just a few days!
You have such a loud and irritz cry 
(it's that toddler stage cry #soirrits #thistooshallpass #pleasepassquickly)
You kick/slap/hit us when you sleep. 
You talk. laugh, and cry in your sleep 
(such a drama sleeper hahah)
You refuse to say 'please' when you ask for something
You're sometimes a bully in nursery
You loooove climbing, jumping, running, and just being outdoors.
You love to cuddle. 
You love cars and trucks.
You make our family so happy!
We love you! 



BIRTHDAY SHENANIGANS
We didn't really have any plans so we just waited until he woke up to figure out what we were going to do. He didn't get up until almost 11AM. What a sleeper. Poor Leila and Sefa were waiting allll morning to give him his birthday gifts that Leila had picked out- a toy truck and a bouncy ball that had a color changing light thing in it. So after he finally woke up we just had a light breakfast and took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. 


 After Chuck E Cheese we grabbed some lunch and headed home. I told Leila she was in charge of baking and decorating Viiga's birthday cake lol. She took her job very seriously and practically baked it all by herself. The kids then spent the rest of the afternoon occupied with the bouncy ball hahah. Who knew? Great gift choice Leila.

In the evening Lahvjal came over and watched the kids while Aljay went to our Ward's Mother's Day dinner. We just went for a short bit and came back and ended the evening with Viiga's cake.

Leila's final creation :) She wanted to stack two square cakes but the first cake didn't come out right so we crumbled it on top to look like dirt. Then we cut banana slices and made a V lol. She wanted to put one of Viiga's small toy dump trucks on the "dirt" buuuttttt I told her we probably shouldn't. We don't know where those toys have been like outside in the dirt, or the grass, or my worst fear the TOILET. Well done Leila! I loved all her ideas! 




And we didn't even eat the cake cause the kids were so full of alllll the junk food Aljay got them for when Lahvjal watched them. hahahh. It was a good day.

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
