Octoberness

Fall is in the air.
The leaves are changing.
The weather is cooling.
There is a chill in the air that whispers of Winter approaching.
I'm really learning to appreciate the changing seasons.
Here's a bit of our October happenings.

Beginning of the Month

  • Leila's award assembly for "Geneva Giant of the Month"
So proud of this little girl and her desire to learn. She loves learning! She got a bunch of cool vouchers to eat free at a bunch of places. Keep it up Leila! We love free food!! LOL nbfr

  • Our first Parent Teacher Conference
Oh so this was fun. Leila's teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Leila is soaring at the top of her class and is definitely a teacher's pet lol. #overachiever #justlikeMommy

Sefa....first comment from his teacher was "he is such as sweet boy" ahhahah. Nah he's doing very well. Meeting all his pre-school standards. Just needs reminders and prompts to help transition from one activity to another.  We are going to get his speech assessed. They have a speech pathologist at their school who can help in class so why not take advantage of the free services. He's still having a hard time pronouncing a few letters. I'm not too concerned, but I do like that there are free resources and options available. #yaytitle1schools #federalfundingfordays
Fall Break (15th-19th)
  • More shots for the kinderkid Leila
  • Backyard cleaning before it gets too cold
  • Primary Program
Leila said her part this time! Yay! Last year was her first year and she was super scared. This year she did so well. Sefa too! I love when the Primary does the program. It's always so sweet and edifying.
  • Jaker's Pumpkin Patch for FHE
Last year we went to HeeHaw farms. It was fun. This year we tried out Jaker's Pumpkin Patch. This was so much fun for the kids!
They got to see a Kangaroo, 700 lb pig, alpacas, goats, and geese.
They also had fun on the slides and in the kid friendly haunted house.
Best of all, it was $1 entrance with lots of fun free activities and inexpensive pumpkins. Thank you Utahliving.
Hayride through the pumpkin patch and corn maze.

Fun in the biggest Corn Pit I've been in. It was really comfy to just sit in.

We told the kids they could get as many pumpkins as they could carry lol. Leila and Sefa were able to carry two small pumpkins each. We took them home and carved them out the following night. Meaning Aljay did all the carving :)

End of October
  • Teeth Varnishing
How cool is that? The kid's school offers free teeth cleaning. Kalofae whoever had to clean our kids teeth. lol
  • ROOCI Business
    • Our shirts for our first "Dedicated" collection is printed!! Exciting!!
      • I would post pics but Aljay said no sneak peaks :( Not like a ton of people would see it on here anyways lol
      • Butttt now it means we can get on with the photo shoots for the shirts :) fuunnnn!!! And Vjal just got his steady cam rig thing so now we can make some videos!!!! (I'm all excited as if I'm going to be in the videos hahaha #stagecrew)
    • First sweaters are printed and are selling out so fast!
    • Algie's shirts are printed :)
  • Red Ribbon Week (like a Spirit Week)
    • It was Red Ribbon week at Leila and Sefa's school during the last week of October. It's like Spirit week when they have different themes for each day and the kids can dress according to the theme.
Yeah my kids never even care. Sefa was clueless as to what was going on and Leila only wanted to participate on pajama day. She was like "I don't want to do my hair crazy!!! I want to make it pretty!" [that was on crazy hair day].

Anyways....the purpose was to educate students about the harmful effects of drugs.....Leila came home and said "Dad we are learning about drugs but I don't know who to say NO to!" lol We had a little discussion after that.

Then she came back another day saying "What's alcohol!?! I want to drink alcohol!" Aljay and I were like WHAT!??!?!? Oh heck no!

  • HALLOWEEN!!!

[Ward Trunk or Treat, Neighborhood Trick or Treating]

Finally!!! Been waiting all month for this! I was feeling some practice contractions during the week leading up to Halloween and decided to take it super easy the rest of the week so we don't end up missing out!! lol I'm 37 weeks by now so I could go any day, which I doubted would happen but I didn't want to take any chances haha. Candy, food, and dressing up the kids is too much fun to miss out on!
We were trying to do a Wizard of Oz theme...

And then random Zebra and Aljay was another scarecrow lol. By the time Aljay and I got to our costumes we were just like meeeeggghhh...just find something around the house lol...
