My Husband made reservations!
Anyone who really knows me, knows that I like planners...and wrist watches...and calendars....and notebooks...and writing things down and organizing plans and ideas on paper. (Don't be deceived...there's no correlation to being super organized, prepared, or on time...because I'm not competent in any of those areas... I just like these things)
And anyone that knows my husband knows that he is a go with the flow...be spontaneous....be inspired by the day..type of person (which used to sometimes bug me but I have adjusted over the years)
So for him to make plans ahead of time really really really excites me! So what did he do exactly? Well...like the title says....MY HUSBAND MADE RESERVATIONS lol
It might not be ground-breaking news for others, but for us it was something new and exciting hahah (especially for Aljay since he did this on our Anniversary).
Thursday, June 11th was our 6th Year Anniversary. Aljay had to work, so we decided that we were going to celebrate Friday. But he came home early Thursday night and we enjoyed a movie at home (Last Knights was mean) and dinner at Zupas (which I'm a major fan of).
The next day I woke up to breakfast in bed :) yummm...food always taste better when someone else makes it and serves you :) Then I came downstairs and found him being on sneaky sneaky on the computer. He was making a slideshow and in typical Aljay fashion posting it on Facebook. He's not a big facebooker. He hardly posts things on social media besides things having to do with work, so it was really cute to get a shout out lol.
| This picture cracks me up because of those three in the back lol |
Then we made some food and took it to his work for one of the managers, Tawny. It was her last day at work and Aljay wanted to do something for her. I don't know why, but I really enjoy doing these types of things with him...cooking together, sharing good food with good people...eating food lol...anything with food a ea.
After we all had a bite to eat, and our kids ran a raucous around the gym, Aljay suggested we take the kids to the city pool for some fun in the sun. It was the perfect day for it and the kids had such a blast. Watching Leila, Iosefa, and Viiga have so much fun is theeeee beesstttt thiinngg in the world and a privilege we fully enjoy as their parents.
Once our kids reached optimal blackness, we bid farewell to the pool, took them home, got showered and changed, and then dropped them off at Jason and Emily's house.
Aljay kept us on schedule (wow) and made sure we left Orem by 7pm so we could make our 8pm dinner reservations lol. On our way up to Salt Lake, he had me check his email to make sure the reservations were confirmed hahah. What a show off guy! lol He was so proud that he had planned ahead and made reservations that were legit (doesn't get more legit than an email confirmation hahah)
When we got to the restaurant Aljay was so excited when the hostess read out our reservation- "Aljay- party of 2? Is that correct?" hahaha He looked over at me and asked "Are you proud of me or what? I made reservations!" :) It was one small step for mankind, but one giant leap for my hubby. I couldn't help but just smile, giggle, and feel my heart fill with warmth.
We ate at a really snazzy Brazilian BBQ type of place and the food was deeeeeliiiccciiouuus!!!
Our favorite things- the lobster bisque that we garnished with shrimp from the salad bar, the fried plantains, lamb, tenderloin, and the rice...yes even the rice. We don't always see rice at restaurants (unless its an Asian restaurant) and on top of that Aljay is the rice police. No joke. An entire meal can be delicious, but if the rice is undercooked/overcooked/not perfect....he will deem the entire meal as just "okay" or worse. And the rice at this restaurant got his seal of approval.
After our stomachs were completely full, we walked around City Creek for a bit and then ended the night by watching Jurassic World which I was sooooo exciittteeddddddddd foorrrrr!!!! There aren't a lot of movies that I am dying/excited/anxious to see....but for this movie.....oka
I. WAS. EXSTATIC! And the movie did not disappoint!
After the movie, we picked up our babies, and made our way home. As we drove we both talked about how it was a really really really fun day! We got to do our favorite things!
- Spend time with the family outdoors in the sun!
- Have fun watching our kids have fun!
- Go on a date by ourselves!
- Enjoy good food!
- Watch a good movie.
And I got excited seeing Aljay get so excited because...
- He planned ahead and made reservations and he was pretty stoked about that lol
- We did something different...aka going up to Salt Lake instead of staying around Utah county
- We were fully satisfied with our meal. nothing worse than paying for a so-so meal.
- He made me so happy :)
A big THANK YOU to my wonderful husband for a fun filled day. Thank you for knowing me so well, keeping it simple, and planning ahead. I'm so grateful we found each other and got married cause I frikken love your guts.
Happy 6th Anniversary My Love
