Summer Lovin ☀☔πŸŽ‡πŸ˜“πŸ˜

Been LOVIN the summer!!!

The heat...not so much (It's still blardy hott)

But just being able to get out of the house without having to put on layers has been really really really nice.

I'm a bit more acclimated this time so the dry heat isn't as severely devastating as it felt last year
(with the exception of a few days of oven like heat that we sometimes get).

We don't have AC in our house so we've been surviving with two fans and sleeping in the nice cool basement. Fortunately we have trees that provide enough shade to the front and back of our house that we don't over heat. There are some days where it's too hot to do anything but overall we don't mind. We would take heat over the cold any day.

Since we only get a few months of decent outdoorsie-swim worthy-ice cream eating weather, we are making sure we take full advantage of it.

Here's how we've spent our time so far.

SWIM TIME at the Provo Rec Center

Kalofae Leila looks beat.

MOVIE TIME at home.

ICE CREAM AND PLAY TIME AT THE MALL (easy way to cool off when the nights are hott)

SPLASH PAD and picnicking

ICE CHALLENGES
for daayyyss.

One night we decided to do our ice challenges....by 'we' I mean Julius (for the third time), Si'u, Algie, Aljay, and meeeeee.

I said to myself "i wouldnt do it if i got called out" and didn't think anyone would call me out but eggghh when it did happen my pride wouldn't let me NOT do it. dumb pride.

We all posted our challenges on fb except Aljay cuz he said he wanted to do his again lol....sumthing about putting a shirt on hahahaha...but I still got the video mwuaaaahhahaha

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
We had a bunch of July birthdays to celebrate including Iosefa's, Mama Metuli, and Your's truly!!! And I'm sure I have a bunch of friends and family members who have July Birthdays but all i can remember right now are To'o and Claudia's birthdays!!! lol

But HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO ALLLLL JULY BABIES!!!

4th OF JULY

We celebrated Independence Day with the Malupo's in Layton.

We swam, we ate, we talked, we laughed, and then we watched fireworks on our drive home.

Twas a pleasant 4th of July.

Can't wait till the kids are old enough to set off big kid fire works :)

BROWN WEDDING

Algie and Kaniai

PIONEER DAY
Last year we arrived at the beginning of July but  were clueless about Pioneer day and didn't realize how big of a deal it is in Utah. This year we got a clue and joined in on the festivities. It was too hot to take baby out to the parades so we celebrated Pioneer day at the Samoan Culture Celebration. It was really nice to run into old friends (well mostly Aljay), eat good food (Sagato's tent was three mean), people watch, window shop (one day we'll actually buy stuff), dance (well Sefa did), and just hang out.

We watched fireworks as we drove home and decided to pick up some sparklers for the kids. When we got home the kids ran around in the sprinklers (good thing cuz they were so dusty and stinky from playing in the dirt earlier), lit their sparklers, and watched all the neighbors fireworks from the front porch. Couldn't have asked for a better evening.

Summer so far has been good to us and we plan to keep the fun going for as long as the warm weather holds (so like only a few more weeks??? #boo).
