Health Journal - January

WINS!

Sandra

  • I can see and feel that I'm losing inches
  • I've been consistent with moving at least 5 days a week.
  • I'm finishing January on Module 3 of the Mutu System (walking, core, intensive 1)
Aljay
  • By 1/18 he's down 28.5 lbs! Amazing!
  • Consistent with diet and exercise!
  • Continuously losing weight

Since Aljay documents on IG, these are just my updates...

 1/16 Bloodwork Follow-Up

Did my follow-up with my healthcare provider. We reviewed my bloodwork, and here's what we're looking at.

Issues:

  • Anemia
  • Low Vitamin D
  • High Blood pressure
  • High blood glucose and A1c
Treatment:
  • Iron, vitamin C & D supplements
  • GLP (ozempic) prescription
Lifestyle Change:
  • Keep walking, but NO high intensity cardio until we improve iron levels
  • Muscle tone and building is good though
  • Low Carb diet

1/23 Just Get to the Gym

I’d say about 50% of the time, I have zero motivation to go to the gym—especially since I have to go in the evenings. But as long as I get myself there, I can usually push through and do what I need to do. It helps so much that Aljay is on board too. Knowing we’re keeping each other accountable makes all the difference.

1/27 - The Supplements

I’ve noticed a slight increase in energy, probably from the B vitamins I’ve been taking. The iron supplement, however, has been making me feel bloated, so I’m going to look into trying a different one. I’ve also been taking vitamin C, which I think has helped me avoid getting sick—hooray!

My Wegovy prescription wasn’t approved, so for now I’m just waiting for the doctor to submit an appeal or re-submit the request.

In the meantime, I stay walking and focusing on the core.

1/29 - Strength Training

Yesterday I started lifting with Aljay. I've been waiting to get started, but wanted to give my body some time to build up my iron before starting resistance training. It felt great! I'm sore today, but it feels good to be building muscles.

Someone I've just started following on socials and youtube especially, is Dr. Stacy Sims. She specializes in women's health, talking specifically about exercise and nutrition for women in all stages. I'm learning more about how my body is changing, perimenopause, and what I need to do now.
