Mommy Memoirs: August 2019

Where to start, where to start.  The whole month of August has been nothing short of exhausting.  Okay so if you can't already tell....this will start off as an  unloading/decompressing/venting session. .feel free to skip the purple parts lol During the first week of August, when the out-of-state families had started arriving, I was preparing for two weeks of training up in Salt Lake. During the week of the actual family reunion I was doing the first full week of training up in Salt Lake. These were 10 - 11 hour days (including the dreadful rush hour traffic). I came home exhausted every day.  Then after the reunion I was on the second week of training taking my teams to different colleges to do campus tours. During that week we visited 11 campuses across Utah in 5 days. It was a lot of travel, a lot of walking, and just a lot.  Add on top of that a death in the ward, a fun family reunion, and then having to say goodbye to all the family. Talk...

Sefa's Baptism

On July 7, 2019 Sefa turned 8 and on August 3, 2019 he was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As parents, Aljay and I were overjoyed and so pleased that he made this decision on his own. He was so fortunate to have all his family there to celebrate with him. Not only were all of Aljay's siblings and parents there, but all my siblings were able to be there as well! That is such a rare thing to happen! We felt so blessed that it panned out that way. So there was representation from both sides of the family in his program. I'm so grateful for that. Leading up to the baptism we had several lessons on baptism and the Holy Ghost for our family prayer and scripture study. On the week of his baptism Aljay went through the motions of the baptism to help calm his nerves. I also asked Leila to help by sharing her testimony.
