9.7.18 | PASIFIKA FIRST FRIDAYS So Monique Ho Ching, who curated the Weber Art of the Pacific Exhibit, is also part of the Pasifika First Friday's committee. The committee is made up of herself and her older sisters who are all brilliant .  Pasifika First Friday's holds an event every first Friday of the month at the Gateway shopping plaza. These events highlight Pacific Islander artists and gives them a platform to showcase and sell their work.  For this show they asked if Aljay would be willing to do live art and he agreed. They transported all the pieces from Weber to Salt Lake and set up the entire venue.  The turnout was awesome and the interaction with the crowd was so cool. Mom and Dad were able to come out and see Aljay's artwork and tons of family was there as well.  Aljay was super chill about everything until he saw Tali and Inoke Funaki lol....but it was sooooooo good to see them and to hear their feedback because Tali is an artist who Alj...

August | Beast of a Month

Oh my life....I don't even know where to begin... We've been so freeeken busy I cannot even fathom how we've been able to keep up with everything!!! Let's see...where do we start? Okayyy...so let's start with Aljay.... Sagato Mural Aljay was comissioned to do the Sagato's mural for their new bakery that is opening up 1st week of October! But he wanted to start and finish it before the furniture was installed and before all the scaffolds were removed. So he started it second week of August and finished it in about 7 days. It turned out soooo beautiful! First mural in the books! He would wait for me to come home from work, then leave to work on the mural during the night. He usually came home around 3 or 4am. Aliitasi Dance Classes Then of course the kids are still doing dance classes with Aliitasi. Twice a week we would take them to practice. They had to learn a Maori dance (action and poi) and a Tahitian ote'a for a performance at the Poly D...

*Two months later....but I couldn't miss out on writing this post....Love this kid JULY 11 | Iosefa's 7th Birthday Happiest of Birthdays  Iosefa Letoaimealelei Uilifoti Fuimaono All About Sefa He's Leila's second and a big help to me and Aljay. He is such a good caretaker for Metuli. He sings to her, carries her, makes her food and feeds her. He can be a punk to Viiga (which some of the time is well deserved) but he takes good care of Viiga as well.  He is awesome at keeping his room clean and organized (wish I could say the same for the girls  tsk tsk).  He folds his clothes and Viiga's clothes and puts it nice and neatly in his drawers. I really appreciate that he takes care of his space so well. He is an artist like his Dad. Loves to draw and copy everything that Aljay does. He's also a clown like Aljay. He gets away with things because he has some funny responses (not always... but most times). He is an awesome dancer. He is ...
