 So...per my usual bad timing, I decided two weeks before Christmas to cut my sugar. LOL See what had happened was....... Dr's Appointment I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor the week of Thanksgiving and my A1C had increased from 6.9 to 9.5%. I was so mad at myself. The doctor prescribed me jardiance which was $700 AFTER insurance 😶😱😮for a 1-month supply. Yeah NO. I did not pay for it. I let my doctor know to switch my prescription, which she did. She wrote me a prescription for farxiga which was $450 AFTER insurance for a 1-months supply....to which I said no thank you.  Doctor Sandra So I decided to take matters into my own hands. Haha haha. I put on my imaginary doctor's white coat, did some research, and learned about berberine being a natural alternative.  I purchased a 1-month supply for $35 from Just Ingredients and have been taking it twice daily before my meals.  I cut out added sugar, cut down on processed foods, and got a CGM (continuous glucos...

Things I've Learned Traditional Chinese Medicine I think I listened to a podcast or something that talked about traditional Chinese Medicine and I was intrigued! So here's a few things I learned from various internet searches.  In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the year is divided into five seasons, including a fifth season that's considered a season within a season:  spring, summer, late summer, autumn, and winter. Each season has its own unique energy and characteristics that can influence our body, mind, and spirit.  TCM also recognizes five elements that correspond to the seasons: Wood:   Represents spring Fire:   Represents summer Earth:   Represents the period between seasons (Indian summer) Metal:   Represents autumn Water:   Represents winter Late summer is a time of transition when the body shifts from the yang energy of spring and summer to the yin energy of fall and winter.  It's a time to slow down, cool down, and reflect....
