AUG - SEPT | Family Updates

August is always madness lol

It's back to school with.....

Lani (4 yo) at home still.
Metuli (6) in 1st grade.
Saleima (8) in 3rd grade.
Viiga (9) in 5th grade.
Sefa (13) in 8th grade.
Leila (14) in 9th grade.

Back to work (jk we stay working all year)

Brit still works for Provo district courts. I still work for UVU First Gen Student Center. Aljay still works taking on art projects.

Back to Sports

Viiga and Sefa are playing football for Orem youth football.
Leila tried out for Orem HS volleyball and made it on the Sophomore team. She plays on the JV team as well.

It's non-stop planning, coordinating, chauffering kids, packing foods, fighting kids lol
It's also constant learning (especially on my end in terms of understanding football and volleyball)
The best part though is watching our kids grow through each experience. It's hard sometimes to watch them work through setbacks, but seeing them persist and progress is so joyful.

Salani Lost a Tooth

Kalofa e this poor thing has been waiiiiting for the toothfairy. Meanwhile, the poor toothfairy has no funds hahahah and keeps forgetting to put coins under her pillow lol

The right photo below is her brushing her teeth and the squishmallow's non existent teeth lol

Baby Ina made her Debut!

I forget how small newborns are lol. Baby Ina made her way to earth early in September. We went over to visit her during her first week at home.

Other Beautiful Blessings------

Aulia is going on a Mission!
Aulia was called to serve in the Anchorage, Alaska mission. I was able to go to her endowment session. We all made it to her farewell on Sunday, Sept 1st. She gets set apart on Sept 8th, home MTC Sept 9th, and then Provo MTC....

This was taken on the day she went into the MTC. So proud of our girl. She was the first baby I ever took care of and have watched from infancy to womanhood. I'm so proud of her.

As for Aljay and I....

Financially, we are facing challenges. While my income is steady, it isn’t enough to get us ahead. Aljay typically earns significantly more, but his income has been irregular lately. We’ve consciously decided to prioritize our children, which comes with sacrifices; meaning Aljay and I must balance watching Lani, getting the kids to their extracurricular activities, and fitting in work.

Our relationships with our kids are our top priority. Being present in their lives has given us the best opportunities to have important conversations and get to know them as they constantly evolve and grow. The car rides to and from practices and games, the talks after a tough loss or poor performance, and being there to answer their questions when they get home from school—it’s all worth it.

Lani starts school next August, which will give Aljay time during the day to really focus. In the meantime, the financial tradeoff is one I’m willing to make at this point in our lives. I constantly remind myself that they are only under our roof for a short time.

The Lord is always mindful and has blessed us with many miracles, constantly reminding us that His promises are steadfast. Our kids are safe, fed, and excelling. We are getting by, and the most important things are at the forefront.

Overall, it has been a blessed late Summer and early Fall season!
