House Updates, Family Kine Tings, & Fall Break

OCTOBER!!!!

It's such a pretty time of the year, with leaves changing color and the temperatures bringing a nice cool crisp air. We really need to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and take some family photos. Butt....As usual, it's been another crazy busy month with Fall Break, Out of State Travel, House building, and all the family kine tings :) So let's get started......

*P.S. I'm super proud of myself because there's actually pictures to go a long with most of the things we did. Yay self!

General Conference
Oct 1

We started off the month on a spiritual high note. It was much needed. The last two Sundays of September were spent at home with sick kids and sick Mommy. So when Conference came around, it felt like we were spiritually drinking from a firehose. It was wonderful. And being pregnant, I couldn't help but feel extra sensitive and so I was crying throughout all the sessions.

By the last session I was emotionally and physically tired and slept through most of it, only to wake up for the very last talk and ball my eyes out again.

Also, MoTab was ON POINT!!! I was so diggin the song selection.

Gen Conf pics of some of us (awake) lol

Uncle Si'u's 60th Birthday

Oct 6

After the birthday part we went home and enjoyed movie night.

Pumpkin Patchin for FHE
Oct 9

We went to Jaker's again this year. The Kumar's (Mike and Rachel and the kids) joined us. After we went to Jaker's, we decided to go to another pumpkin patch cause it was freeeee. We like free. The kids loved the hayrides, corn pits, and animals.

Primary Program

Oct 15

Didn't even get a picture of Leila and Sefa. Thank goodness for ward members who are always camera ready and make cute little titles on the pics. If you look close enough you'll find Leila and Sefa just off to the right of the middle, in the 2nd/3rd-ish rows.

Everyone did a great job! So thankful to the primary presidency, leaders, and teachers who love and teach our children.

Spring Break and 1st Day of my 1st real "Business Trip"
OCT 19th - 23rd/24th
I'll do a separate post on my trip.  But the day started with the whole family dropping me off at the airport in the morning. They were all really sad to see me go, but then they went straight to the zoo and got over it lol.  They also got to sleep over at their Aunty Liz's house.

The next day they got some yummy pastries from the London bakery. Aljay's family, the Sagatos, do NZ kine pastries there. Aljay said it was as good as it looked, and the kids ate it up!  In the evening they went to Penny & Vjal's house and ended up spending the night there.

Following day (Sunday), they went to church (I think) and then cruised the whole day at home.

On Monday they went to Cornbelly's Pumpkin Patch and then got to sleep over at Mike & Rachel's.

*Cornbelly's was a ton of fun. They ran into Algie and Kaniai, were able to go on a tractor train ride, jump on a trampoline kine thing, and play on all the fun things they had.

Tuesday, they were supposed to go back to schools but Aljay didn't get up in time to go get them from Rachel's house. And they probably slept in anyways.

FINALLY....after an extended fall break...they made it back home and went back to school on Wednesday. I think it is safe to say that they had a pretty good fall break. Bunch of ka'a kids!

House Update
Oct 28th

Garage

We stopped by the house to see the progress. They had scaffolding up all around outside, most of the windows were in, and the drywall was up in most parts of the house. It's amazing how quickly things are coming together.

The superintendent just happened to be walking by the house so he talked and chatted a bit with Aljay. He said that we are possibly looking at completion by the end of November and move in by 1st or 2nd week of December.

[p.s. homeownertip! If you are ever getting your home built, the Superintendent is the person  you want to be friends with]

We put December 20th as our official move out day for our apartment just in case things were extended. But hopefully we should be able to get all the paperwork and loan agreements done in time. It should move faster since we aren't buying from a seller.

[p.s.s. homeownertip! If you are building your house and have requested any modifications... . Do not finalize your mortgage loan until the house has been built. You want to make sure your requested changes were made]

November 1st
99% done with the drywall.
Exterior

Our bedroom and bathroom on the second level.
Aljay wanted a walk in shower for our bathroom instead of a standard tub (he doesn't fit in the standard tubs anyways). The shower is a lot bigger than I was expecting. He sure is happy about it :)

Kids Rooms & Bathroom on the second level.

Mom & Dad's Suite on the main level
 Living Room & Kitchen

Almost there fam! Now we gotta get our apartment packed up again and ready for another move. Luckily I'm still throwing out boxes of things that we don't need.

Halloween
Oct 31st

Ok so this is where I failed to take pics lol It's okay though. It was a bit cold so the kids had to wear coats anyways. So we had them just wear some fun wigs that I brought home from work.

We took the kids trick-or-treating with Matt and Agnes Manuma and their kids, and in their neighborhood. We only did two blocks and called it good lol. I had so much fun watching Viiga cause he's just a fun character (even though he is the slowest trick-or-treater lol). Saleima was just pulled around in a wagon by her Daddy. Leila and Sefa were busy running from house to house with the Manuma's two older boys.

We got back to their place and the kids had a chance to eat some of their stash. We then went home and I cooked some chili and rice for dinner. And yes we ended up eating dinner at almost 10pm.

OK so even though I failed to take pics of our family Halloween, I'll just leave these pics of a mural and alter that was made in celebration of Dios de los Muertos. It was so cool! The artist did a beautiful job. Plus we were able to write down the names of loved ones who have passed on the side glass wall. It was cool to learn about this Mexican tradition.
