Our Babies are GROWING!!

KEIKI UPDATES WOOHOO!
First up....



SALEIMA

11 months old

  • our little happy baby is now standing on her own and took a step! Not full on walking yet....but pretty soon 
  • she gets the most pics since she's the only one that stays still long enough.
  • she's more laka to Aljay now since he's with her all day...oh and also because of the next bullet point...
  • No more susu- we are officially done breastfeeding! This little biter almost bit my nips off!!! Around 10 months she started biting me suuuuper bad. Like forreals cuts top and bottom....tmi tmi...It was soooooo sore! She's the only baby to do this to me! So I cut her off lol before I lost my nips hahaha....so now we're on formula until she turns one (which is next month #exciting!)
  • social baby- she hates being alone, loves being around people
  • 6 teeth now
  • fatso bebe- she eats all. day. long
  • she can climb the stairs and has tumbled down once #yesiwilladmitit
  • her personality and mannerisms are starting to come through and she's definitely my mini!
    • sleeps with her mouth open
    • sometimes a diva
    • gets super grouchy and impatient when she's hungry
    • or if someone interrupts her beauty sleep
    • loves to cuddle with Dad
    • can handle Viiga...and we're kind of thinking she might be a little crazy like him. no bueno. 
  • She waves bye, clamps her hands, points, sings, gives open mouth kisses and is starting to pick up things from her siblings
  • We LOVE her!

and then there's THIS GUY!!!!

VIIGA
2 years old
  • our wild child
  • never ending energy
  • funny az little guy
  • is starting to speak more words and slightly more clearly...still not sure what he says 98% of the time but he is getting better
  • will go pee in the toilet on his own, but only when he's butt naked....we should potty train him...but yeah neither of us parents have put much energy into it. He's a handful already lol
  • Still takes the award for
    • best facials 
    • best hair
    • and lashes (lucky guy)
  • he likes to sing and dance
  • eats almost everything we give him
  • can be so cute and funny but oh so crazy!!!
  • He is definitely Aljay's mini!
  • He's a handful but he's hilarious and we crack up just watching him do his thing lol 

next up is our kinder kid ...

or not to buy the school pics cause they are so overpriced!


IOSEFA

5 years old

  • our day dreamer...always off in his own world
  • our FUNNY guy
  • so athletic
  • and agile and nimble 
  • naturally loves being outdoors
  • loves catching bugs
  • loves to climb trees and jump off everything
  • still kind of a picky eater
  • my favorite dance partner
  • always looking out for his sister Saleima
  • Leila's best friend
  • likes singing songs
  • sensitive and caring
  • loves to draw
  • is really into jump rope
  • His teacher says his enthusiasm for learning makes other students excited to learn as well
  • He's such a bright little kid
  • he's also a great helper and has officially made it into the elite group of dishwashers! Our boy is in the rotation now!!! yeeesssss


and then last but not least...

our first born


Leila
6 years old
  • our right hand man
  • our biggest helper
    • she was so proud to welcome Sefa into the honorable ranks of being a dishwasher
  • loves to cook (choc chip pancakes, macaroni and cheese, and salmon are her favorites)
  • takes great care of all her siblings
    • she changes Viiga's diapers
    • makes Saleima's bottles
    • helps watch the babies when I'm cooking or cleaning
    • reads to her siblings
  • loves to swim 
  • loves arts and crafts (good thing so she can teach me how to be artsy and crafty)
  • loves butter (we've had to cut her off a couple of times)
  • and mayonnaise  (like her Dad)
  • she is a hard worker and tries her very best in everything. 
  • Things don't always come as easily and naturally (like they do with Sefa) but she works diligently to understand new concepts and ideas. I love her work ethic (maybe not when it comes to chores lol)
  • loves dancing and is a quite a natural!!! 
  • She really is a remarkable kid

DATE NIGHT- Got to go to the Pentatonix concert. Uncle Leroy had 6 extra tickets sooo yaaayyy!!! We went with Joe, Lola, and the Unga's (Whit and Seta).  Concert was pretty mean. Pentatonix is mean. But Leatherby's afterwards was meanest! Best caramel apple sunday evverrrrr.





ROOCI happenings-
Aljay and his employees. This guy has to pick up shirts, drop off shirts, meet with vendors--- all with the three younger kids. It's impressive. Mad props to the work-at-home-stay-at-home Dad. Love him.


Below: At the free concert for Junior Maile's birthday. Lahjit(spell?) was 10 mean!! So was Nadrua, Pati, and of course Junior Maile. Had so much fun dancing with our kids...well whenever they did stay long enough with me to dance. Roociwear was there to throw Rooci shirts out to the crowd.

Start the year off with two volleyball tournaments for Leila. The picture below is of her and Isa, the only 14-year-olds on their U16 team.  Fires are destroying parts of California, the Palisade area experiencing the worst of it. Texas and some of the southern states are experiencing some of the worst snow/ice conditions. TikTok is on the verge of being banned, President Trump is continuously passing executive orders that are sending people into panic.  Saleima made a list of the disasters and warned us that Jesus was on His way.  Sefa moved up to the Teachers quorum and was ordained by his Dad, Uncle Dennis, and Uncle Ben. He's growing so quickly and I love seeing his growth. They have a great group of young men. I love that they are old enough to plan activities, including attending the temple to do Baptism.  Sefa's also starting U15 7v7 pylons with coach Matt Manuma. Being Prepared For These Times

Auuuu that title sounds like I'm trying to write a General Conference talk or something hahaha. Probably still on the GC vibe from the beginning of the month lol. Anyways... So this pandemic that's going on, it's been something else! It has put the whole world on lock down. So many lives have been affected. I've written quite a bit in my journal, but I wanted to make sure to write about how the Lord has prepared our family specifically for this time. Looking back just in February and March, we can easily see how the Lord had orchestrated parts of our lives.  In February Aljay secured an art collector who commissioned several art pieces. His deposit was the cushion that brought a sense of financial security when we entered this lock-down life.  Towards the end of February, my bosses had heard about school closures in Seattle and decided that we should have a plan in place for our advisers to work remotely in case the schools had to close. 2025 February

Leila - Volleyball and more Volleyball  Leila had two tournaments in February. This club season has challenged her in a good way. She wants to play the outside hitter position but is playing on a 16s team (meaning older girls with more experience) and is sitting in the 3rd spot for out side hitting. To get to the 1 or 2 spot she needs more reps, more practice, and more individual coaching. We're seeing improvements each week, but are planning to set aside money for her to do more 1:1 coaching.  These tournaments are no joke. They are allllll day. 6am - 7pm sometimes. 1-day, 2-day, and sometimes 3-day tourneys. The mental stamina it takes as a parent ahahahahh is a real thing! Trying to say the right things to keep your athlete focused, motivated, and locked in is tough. There are so many things that are over stimulating or compounding: - the non stop sound of whistles and girl's cheering/screaming - the smell of swass in the building that increases as the tournament progresses...
