MAY MADDNESS!!! part 1

May was a busy busy busy month! Here's some of the May Madness from the 1st half of May :)

May 4th -

After a four hour rehearsal at PCC for We Are Samoa stuff we headed over to the Fobsquad BBQ at Kakelas! Alicia was here on vacation for a week and for the first time since forever we all met together. Our family could only be there for the ending but it was soooo nice to see everyone and have all the kids socialize! Look how we've all grown!
Love these people!

After the BBQ we had to rush home, clean up, get ready, and head down to Castle HS for their Ho'ike. The Castle high school kids performed a portion of the We Are Samoa performance for the Samoan section. They did a great job with everything! We were exhausted afterwards and left right after taualuga finished. It was one loonnnggg day.

May 10th-Tui got his mission call!

...annnd he was called to serve in ARIZONA!!! I couldn't hear too well so I don't know what area he'll be serving in. It was the best news that I really needed to hear! He is theeee First Fa'amuli Elder from our family!!!! SOOOOO HAPPY FOR HIM!!!!
Uati, MillaDan, CanJay, MomPops, and I got to hear it over the phone! He enters the MTC in June. Can't believe it :) #proudsister

May 11th- WE ARE SAMOA FESTIVAL!!

Cheehoo!!! We Are Samoa took up all our time and energy. It was such an awesome experience for us! Especially for me since this was my first time being involved and really taking the reigns as an adviser and instructor. There was a lot to write about so I made a separate post for it.
If you reaaaally want to read more about it you can click HERE and read about the whole experience.

After 'We Are Samoa' we picked up our kids from Aunty Janeen's house, headed over to Lahvjal and Penny' place, and got to skype with everyone! We got to skype with Sister Fuimaono, the Kiwiland Fuimaonos, Motherland Fuimaonos, and Mr.International Driver Fuimaono (Dad) who was on an international trip in NZ. Best way to end a long and tiring day! Love and miss these guys!

May 12- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

After all the hustle and bustle of We Are Samoa, Mother's Day couldn't have come at a better time. I think each person in our family was just exhausted from constantly being on the move (little ones included).  Yet thanks to a loving and caring husband.. I got to rest.....Be fed spiritually and physically......Rest some more...And spend time with my family...with no distractions, family obligations, or extra meetings.  I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day. I'm so grateful for my eternal companion for loving me and taking care of my every need.

May 16- King Int Ho'ike

The last and FINAL event for the school year was this Ho'ike performance at King Intermediate. This is where the performing arts department gets to show off all that they have learned over the semester. Our Poly dance classes performed Maori and Tahitian dances, while the 8th Grade Hawaiian dance classes performed their hula auana.

My Feelings:
I'm glad its all over lol. I had about 80 kids to manage and line up all while trying to keep an eye on Leila and holding a fidgety Sefa (he was grouchy and wanted my undivided attention which is understandable). Aljay had 40+ mokos to draw and there were still last minute students making their ti leaf hip bands. But I kind of surprised myself because I wasn't stressed out, panicky, frustrated, or worried....and its because I'm always calm and well mannered under pressure.....NOT!!! I think the We Are Samoa competition took all of that anxiety, stress, and worries out of me. Blessing? I'll count that as a YES.

I also had the best supporter ever! My husband! The one who always reminds me that things will work out, who always manages to get things done. The one who always has a calmness to him...which in turn keeps me calm...Thannnkkkk goodnes! He gives me the strength to continue pushing forward and I am completely grateful for him.

I also had some major help from the Punahele sisters! Kekai, Kuluwai, and Kawai!!! Cheeee heee!!! They are theeeeee BOMB! They helped with the mokos, costuming, and most importantly watching our rascal-cannot-stay-in-their-seats kids!!!

Even the cleanup seemed easy. One of the students and their Mom stayed back and in 15 mins the classroom was swept up, costumes stacked, and rubbish thrown out. Wooo to the whoooo!!!

Now that the source of most of our stress has passed (I'm talking about WRSamoa and the Ho'ikes) we are finally able to reflect on everything. And looking back....I'm just soooo grateful for all the blessings that we have received because there is noooo way we would've survived. We had no money, no time, and no sleep BUT we still made it without any meltdowns lol...****and trust me I was close to having a good cry session just to relieve some of the stress***

But once again through faithful tithe paying and continuous prayer the Lord provided for our needs through the kind service of friends and family.  Our testimonies of tithing have been strengthened again and our faith has increased.

Feeling very blessed...and the month isn't even over yet :)
