Cha cha cha chaannnggesss!!!

Man I don't know where to begin.  Too many emotions and thoughts going on that I don't know where exactly to start.  Let's start from the very beginning..... So Aljay quit his job.  So wuh ha happend was.... He had pulled a ligament in his back a while ago, had to go to rehab for it, had to take time off to heal,  got workers comp (but the pay was lame), went back to work (cuz we needed the money), didn't want to keep working because his back would never heal, realized it was time to stop working a job that was aging him, and then quit his job. In a nutshell. So what does that mean for our income , livelihood , and financial stability ? I'll answer that in a second.  First....let me tell you what quitting his job has done for him.  It's put a smile back on his face. It has allowed him to physically heal. Fuimaono Family Updates

It's been a while since I've done an update on the kids so here goes..... starting with the smallest and cutest one in the family... VI'IGA Age:   3 months old Latest Developments:  Been sleeping through the night ( YAAAYYY!! ) Eats well ( takes the bottle easily and that includes formula if I'm away ) Is healthy and growing stronger by the day ( and longer ) he smiles more coos :) Loves: when people talk to him taking warm baths tummy time sleeping on his stomach ( but Moms scared and only lets him lay tummy down for naps ) Hanging out with his family SEFA DAWG Age: 3 years old Favorite shows/movies:  Dinosaur train Martha Speaks Rio 2 Daniel Tiger Loves: Playing in the dirt Dancing  Anything having to do with water ( running through sprinklers, splashpad, pools, puddles, rain, etc ) Bugging/playing with his siblings Recent developments: he's going through the "i don't like undies/shorts/anythi...

Best Carnival EVER!!!!

I've been to carnivals before but  nothing  like the one our Stake put on. I can easily say it was theeeee best carnival ever!  I'll tell you why... It all started when President Makai (our awesome stake president) created the Makai Reading Initiative (MRI) as a way to encourage our Polynesian children to learn to love learning  through reading. All the primary children in our stake were given a worksheet where they would color in a block for every 30 minutes of reading they completed. They could complete as many sheets as they liked, turn the sheets in to the Bishop, and then have an interview with both the Bishop and President Makai. As a reward and incentive for the kids, an MRI carnival was held to celebrate the children's progress. As someone who did not receive higher education President Makai really wanted to emphasize the importance of education for our primary children, but at the same time show the children how fun and rewarding learning can be.
